FernMTL Report post Posted April 13, 2016 Hi folks, I know it has been discussed a few times over here, but I can't find an answer that fits my problem. I have a rattle coming from the rear passenger door/trunk that is noticeable ONLY over 45 mph. It is steady, but the rattle sound is rhythmic (the ''tempo'' changes, goes fast to low). Sounds like a wire touching a panel.Since two weeks, It is getting louder and the stereo can't hide the sound no more. I've looked around the trunk, seat, inside the wheel and everything looks solid. Had this problem since the beginning (almost 3 years). Has you know, my dealer wasn't able to fix the problem. I got used to it, but now it is getting too loud. Any help, advise would be appreciated. murphy Report post Posted April 13, 2016 Verify that the rubber on the torsion bars, that support the trunk lid, is centered. It keeps the bars from touching each other and from touching the underside of the rear deck. 1 FernMTL reacted to this
mwr Report post Posted April 14, 2016 If your car is still in full warranty, take it to the dealer and don't take "can't fix it" for an answer. 1 FernMTL reacted to this
Riggo Report post Posted April 14, 2016 I've had the same problem for a while and can't find the fix. I've even put towels between the torsion bars and trunk lid and that doesn't do anything. 1 FernMTL reacted to this
FernMTL Report post Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) I've been to two dealers for that problem, both wasn't able to help me. In fact, I think the Fusion as so many rattles, they just quit fixing them. :)This summer, I'll try to fix some of them. @Riggo: Read the last post of this thread, might help us: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/10302-solved-trunk-rattle/?hl=%2Btrunk+%2Brattle Edited April 14, 2016 by FernMTL 1 Riggo reacted to this
FernMTL Report post Posted April 17, 2016 (edited) Today I changed my tires ( winter rims to summer rims) and noticed a sound from the rear passenger suspension while jacking the car. When I ''shake the car'' with my hands, I can hear a squeaky noise coming from the suspension components, similar to what i hear in the car. My next oil change is for next month and I'll get it checked at the same time. Sounds like a faulty bushing. Rattle ''might'' be found. FernMTL Report post Posted May 26, 2016 Rattle FOUND!!!! If you look at the picture, I'm pointing the ''cardboard'' piece that was not placed properly. It was touching the metal body and was causing the rattle. I've replaced it behind the rubber seal and haven't hear the rattle since. A 2 seconds fix that took me months to find haha. 4 Texasota, machoman1337, Riggo and 1 other reacted to this
