Looking to buy 2014 fusion hybrid.....

I'm currently looking at a 2014 fusion hybrid se for 16995. I have some questions though, according to the dealer it says the fusion is certified pre owned but it is not listed on the ford certified pre owned website. On the carfax it states it was certified after the 1st owner and then 2nd owner bought it but it doesn't state it was certified again after the 2nd owner. Dealer is telling me it is certified but I'm not too sure. What do you guys think? Also, looking at pictures of the car I don't see any of the hybrid se badges anywhere on the car but I know it's one because you can see the space in the trunk is that of a hybrid. Thanks.

If it doesn't have the hybrid badges, something may be fishy. Some time back some owners thought it might be a good idea to remove the badges so that people that didn't believe in global warming wouldn't "key" the car or something. The consensus was to leave them on as it was useful to emergency responders to know it was a hybrid. Maybe it's been repainted.

If you go through with the deal, be sure to get documents that it is Certified. Skepticism on my part with two owners already. I, too, looked at '14's as the prices were very good but the front passenger seat was he deal-breaker for us as it does not elevate. My wife felt as though she was sitting in a hole. Bought a late '15 and love it.

 

Be thorough in your research and you'll be rewarded. It's a great car!

That's exactly what I thought. Something may be fishy as it doesn't have a hybrid badge anywhere or even the SE badge. I'm not sure I want to even attempt to deal here.

Maybe, like many of us experienced, one of the badges felt off and he decided to remove them all instead of paying 50$ a piece.

Or, like one of my friend, he decided to remove the badges because he doesn't like the look of it.

I was under the impression that only one owner used cars can be Ford certified. I could be wrong. Maybe the dealer is using a 3rd party program.

Nothing wrong with removing them if you don't care for the look or don't want to be a rolling bill board for hybrids. The Lincoln MKZ hybrid does not have hybrid badges.
