FloridaFusion Report post Posted January 20, 2016 Hi everyone, I bought a used 2013 FFH in August 2015 and my 3 year/36,000 mile factory warranty runs out in a few weeks. I have only had one issue with the car - I got the dreaded Wrench Light, apparently, due to software issues which lead to a six night stay at the local Ford dealership. However, nothing has happened since then and there isn't anything wrong with the car as far as I'm aware. Should I take it in to have a check-up before my warranty expires? Do they do general check-ups or should I ask them to specifically inspect certain components or systems in the car? If the latter, what should I ask them to look at? Thanks in advance! FernMTL Report post Posted January 20, 2016 Normally, when you do an oil change at your dealer, they look around the car.For the check-up, It's a waste of money and time if your nothing's wrong with the car. For a dealer to get paid by Ford for a warranty repair, the customer as to first complain about something on the car, Then a tech locate the problem (if there's one) and fix it.You can't ask the techs to go ''looking for problems'' before your warranty expires. No dealers does that cause it's considered ''selling warranty'' on Ford's back and hard to get claimed after that. The dealer might not be refunded for the repairs. Again, if nothing seems wrong with your car, save that 150$+ for that inspection and keep it for future maintenance.
talmy Report post Posted January 20, 2016 Best thing to do is to try out every feature in your car and the "obvious" strange noises and dripping fluids. It's winter, so make sure your AC works!

SSM & TSB repairs are usually only "free" to you during the 3/36 b2b warranty.
