Road noise from rear doors?

Recommended Posts

All

I have a 2014 FFH Ti with about 13k miles on it. I can hear road noise that appears to come from the bottom of the rear doors or the B pillar. It is especially loud when driving on wet roads.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

Every now and then I hear something similar...sounds to me like the left rear door or window are open just a hair, but they're not open.

I hear rattles from what It seems to be the rear passenger door/trunk. Seems like wires are touching the body type of rattle. Louder at highway speed. Haven't been able to figure it out yet. I tough about the battery pack fan, but not sure if there's one on our Hybrid.

But yours is more like wind noise?

Verify that the rubber insulator on the torsion bars, that support the trunk lid, are centered. It's job is to prevent the bars from touching each other or the underside of the package shelf.

I just verified, they are tighted togheter with a Tie-Wrap. So they should not touch each other? I'll fix it up, thanks for the info!!

I guess if the wrap was tight enough that they couldn't vibrate against each other that would work. Mine is a 2013 and the bars were replaced shortly after delivery because they installed non-spolier bars in a car that has a spoiler. The trunk lid would not stay up. The new bars have the rubber insulator. I have no idea what came from the factory.

I hear rattle sounds from the passenger door, passenger rear door or b pilar, trunk area and now a squeaking noise from somewhere on the passenger side. The car is a rolling rattle/squeak machine and it drives me insane. I don't really hear what I'd call road or wind noise though.

I test drove a 16 fusion hybrid titanium and could hear road noise from the left rear door area.

Exactly as originally described, sounded like the window or door was open.

I finally found the rattle in the rear trunk area of my 13 fusion hybrid

After I tightened the upper rear shock nut the noise is now gone
