GrySql Report post Posted December 14, 2015 FTA:Toyota may have an all-new Prius, but it’s being realistic with its sales potential.With gas prices dropping worldwide, Toyota has lowered its sales target for the new Prius to global annual sales of 300,000 to 350,000 units. That’s the lower end of the spectrum compared to the 300,000 to 400,000 sales target for the previous model. One of the factors for the reduced sales target is an overall decline of annual sales for the hybrid since 2013. According to the Japanese automaker’s monthly sales records, U.S. sales of Prius models have dropped 12 percent in the year to November compared to the same period last year. Al you would need is a belt sander. In addition, he has beefed up the child safety locks on those rear doors. Some (not me) might say this modification improves the look of that particular model. ElectricFan69 Report post Posted January 1, 2016 RE the Prius with the 'morning wood' repair job - in some ways I admire the guy's craftsmanship and 'use what you have' repair paradigm. The amount of work it took to fabricate and fit the structure is indicative of someone with lots more time than money. A back bumper skin, crash structure, etc. from a wrecking yard would have been relatively cheap - but using scrap lumber from other projects would have been 'free', and an interesting project. Sad part is the fact that the car likely gained a couple of hundred pounds of weight and scary crash performance - note how sharp the strakes going over the rear doors are? As to the original story - that seems to be a case of collective amnesia about fuel const spikes. Looks like OPEC is playing the classic 'kill the competition' game of monopoly - drop the product price to drive the competitors out of business, buy them up at low cost, and jack the prices and make the money back - and then some.
