Darkside Report post Posted November 25, 2015 I think we need to come up with a different name for the previously known as "gas pedal". The other day I got in the FFH and pushed the start button and the HVB must have been low because the ICE came on right away, as I was sitting there listening to the ICE run at about 1500 rpm I wondered?? What will happen if I goose the old gas pedal when the ICE is on? As I suspected. Nothing happened. LOLMaybe call it the "go pedal"...Technology- I remember driving my new truck that doesn't have a gas pedal cable but rather what's called "drive by wire", although when the engine is running and I goose it I get a roar, but driving down the freeway the first time I used the cruise control I noticed it wasn't like the old days where the gas pedal actually stayed and/or moved up and down based on desired speed. When I went to disengage the cruise control I found that the gas pedal does not move when cruise is on and actually returns to the no gas position when it is engaged. openair Report post Posted November 25, 2015 It already has another name. Gas pedal is far from its correct name. Accelerator. 2 machoman1337 and GrySql reacted to this

CCalvinN Report post Posted November 26, 2015 I don't think we need to be worried about an incorrect name like 'gas pedal'. The world is full of anachronisms like a phone 'ring', or the sound a camera phones makes when it takes a picture (the mechanical shutter sound from an old camera). In that vein, I personally vote we officially rename the accelerator pedal to gas pedal. 1 GrySql reacted to this

lolder Report post Posted November 26, 2015 In the 2010 it runs about 1300rpm. If you floor it, it will go up tp a little over 3000 rpm. This is also a way to fully charge the HVB ( for storage? ) by pushing the pedal down about 1/3 till the ICE starts in "P".

The world is full of anachronisms like a phone 'ring', or the sound a camera phones makes when it takes a picture (the mechanical shutter sound from an old camera). In that vein, I personally vote we officially rename the accelerator pedal to gas pedal. One of the more bizarre affectations of modern life is the simulated ring of a 500 series Bell handset. To have a modern mobile sound like a 60-year-old antique is still disconcerting. Ditto on the simulated mechanical shutter sounds.
