2017 Fusion Spied

Recommended Posts

The headlights and fog lights seem different. There is a noticeable chrome ring around the Angel eye.

I could see them updating the headlights, foglights, and taillights. But would they really mess with the grille? Over the past few years they've been moving all their vehicles to look more like the fusion, so why would they differentiate that now?

The foglights look more like the ones they have on the Vignale.

I hope they come out with an improved FFH & a new Energi with at least 40 miles of electric range.

+1

Really seems like it would make sense to use the front block heater plug-in also as a low power charger as well for the HVBattery...

Was really surprised these and even the new escape don't have LED / HID low beams... Ugh yellowy xeon?

Hoping to see the refresh soon and someone able to reprogram the Sync 3 modules for <= 2016 MY's :)

The Mondeo in Europe has awesome LED headlights, as seen in this ad:

I really hope we get these (or HIDs) as an option for MY 2017... the stock headlamps leave a bit to be desired. Come on Ford, even the Focus and Escape in North America have HIDs as factory options.

As for Sync3, I saw a thread where someone did retrofit the Sync3 (screen and all) into a 2013 Taurus SHO but he mentioned that this isn't something just anyone can do... he obviously works for Ford or for a major partner, and thus had access to special equipment for reprogramming parts.

I'd hope they do a better job of packaging the larger battery pack. Looked at the Energi - the reduction in luggage space was a deal-breaker for me. Having the 'regular' FFH battery packaged in a more space-efficient manner would make a good car better. In the same area, going to the parallelogram hinge design (instead of the current gooseneck) would likewise add several cubic feet of usable space.
