VIN info used on internet to see your vehicle's specifications

Recommended Posts

I am brand spanking new to this forum. Today's the first day I become aware it was here and browsed about. I agree tons of goodies for Fusion owners.

I just bought a 2016 Fusion Energi. So plenty for me to learn, I'm noticing!

While I was caught somewhat aback by seeing that the manual that came with my car had what appears to be generic information with annotations for 'if equipped', I was speaking with a younger individual that thought I could use the internet to see specific build (??) specifications pertaining to my precise vehicle.

Anyone familiar with how to do this?

Yes, I consistently refer to my window sticker, but even that has the Equipment Group info reference that appears to be generic in that it doesn't inform me what the group includes.

Go to this link https://www.etis.ford.com/ Then click on the vehicle icon at the top left and then put in your vin. It will bring up your vehicle and click on the additional information link and a box will drop down with the information. Even this is not 100% accurate.

I suggest going to your dealers parts department. Give them your VIN and they can run an actual build sheet for your vehcile that will be accurate.

:thumbsup:Thank you! I like hearing what's (somewhat natural) to ask from the dealership, so I appreciate your response.

While browsing around after I posted this question, I saw a post in this forum recommending use of a website etis.ford.com that seems to do the trick also.

Can you do this without using a VIN number?  Vin numbers reveal ownership details.
