hybridbear Report post Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) Marchionne has said since the 500e was introduced that he doesn't want to sell them.Didn't see or find an "item 7" in the link you posted. Perhaps you can cut and paste what it says?7. Fleet MPG SucksLast year, the FCA’s U.S. fleet averaged 21.1 mpg, which is last among all volume automakers in corporate average fuel economy. The current leader is Nissan, which has a corporate average fuel economy of 26.8 mpg. Even more ironic, the only hybrid that you can purchase from any of the company’s 11 brands is the $1.4 million LaFerrari, which we all know is hardly a car that has fuel economy as its main priority. There is, however, the Fiat 500e that’s offered in California and parts of Oregon, but even Marchionne himself has said that he hopes no one purchases it since the company loses about $14,000 per Fiat 500e sold. You have to copy & paste the Autoguide URL into your browser. I tried to see if I could get it to work as a link & received an error message from the Forum, stating that the Forum Administrator doesn't allow links to this website. talmy Report post Posted September 16, 2015 Our son (who drives a Tesla) leased a Fiat 500e for his wife, and stated point 7 at the time. FCA only has it to help their fleet mileage. They leased it because it was an incredible deal -- only car they have ever leased. Since it looks so much like abandonware resale value will probably be poor. They like it, and it is perfect for her commute. It even comes with a bunch of free car rentals (as a way to solve the long distance travel problem) they use when they fly out of town on vacations. This makes the effective lease cost even less. 2 hybridbear and GrySql reacted to this
