June 2015 HybridCars.com Dashboard

It is depressing. I haven't seen any FFH-specific ads on TV since during this year's Super Bowl, right before they downgraded the EPA ratings for the FFH.

Even the Fusion sales as a whole are declining. I figure it is because the FFH is no longer the newest, flashiest bauble for the general public to glom onto.

I think Ford is marketing the car incorrectly. Someone in my office is planning on getting a new car, and I talked about the FFH. He decided on the Honda Accord Hybrid. Honda isn't doing much advertising on their hybird, and from everything I've read, the Accord doesn't make it's EPA numbers either, so I don't get it :(

These are not mass market cars, and Ford is treating them as such. Ford only has to sell enough FFH, FFE, Cmax cars to get the corporate fuel economy numbers within range to offset sales on F150's and SUV's. I'm pretty sure Ford looses money on every Hybrid/Electric it sells, but more than makes it up on the Truck/SUV side. The trade refers to our cars as "Quota Cars". If Gas jumps to $4/gal, Ford has a great product to sell when the public moves back to economy vehicles.
