Miles on original Michelin tires?

Recommended Posts

I have the 17" Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires on my 2013. I'm up to nearly 45K miles, and the tread still looks decent. I'm wondering how many miles other owners have put on these tires before replacing.

I'm behind you in mileage by quite a bit and the tires still look good. I find that I like to go round curves a lot faster with the Fusion because I like the way it handles, solid, stays on track. And I know that can't be good for long tire life...

I got 64K miles in the CMAX and would go 70K+ if you keep aligned and rotated. :)

I'm with you on that statement. There aren't many good corners around here but the ones that are getting used. :)

44,332 on mine. Lincoln's head still showing!

Actually, If all of his head is showing, you really need new tires. (The deeper the tread, the less of the head can be seen.)

True. Some of the top of his head is still below the tread.

I have 53,000 miles now, and the tires are still in good shape. I do take 3 or 4 sharp corners every day, and I take them pretty fast. Other than that, I drive pretty calm and relaxed. I'm planning on replacing them later this year, but these tires are pricier than what I'm used to. Ford quoted me over $1K for a set of 4; I checked online, and I can get the set for about $800 and Ford will match what I bring in, but my last set of tires for my Volvo were about $600 for a set. I won't let anyone else work on my FFH besides Ford.

These reports are very good. My tires are Michelin Energy Saver A/S, P225/50R17 93V. Tirerack shows these and also Michelin Energy Saver A/S, 225/50R17 94V. What's the diffeence between those two tires?

The 93S tire has a load rating of 1433 pounds and a top speed rating of 112 mph. - A family sedan tire.

The 94V tire has a load rating of 1477 pounds and a top speed rating of 149 mph. - A hi-speed sports car tire.

He typed 93V & 94V though. Is that a typo? Are the factory tires 93S?

On my first Saab, the previous owner had put on cheap tires with a lower speed rating than Saab recommended. The handling & alignment was terrible. I had the car aligned multiple times by the Saab dealer & a local expert Saab mechanic. The local expert mechanic told me that the issue was the cheap tires, not the car. Sure enough, I bought some Michelin tires with the proper V speed rating the alignment was fixed & the handling was greatly improved.

Discount Tire will match the price of anyone online. They also repair flats for free & rotate your tires for free. Our local Discount Tire does excellent work. I'd highly recommend Discount Tire. I've found that by making an appointment for 8:00 am when they first open the quality of the work done is the best because all the workers are not exhausted after a long day & there's no rush because the shop is quiet. This helps avoid mistakes like missing with the impact wrench and gouging the rims.

You want 93V which is the orignal tire and rated for 51PSI max pressure. I'm on my second set which I got a deal from FORD. :)
