machoman1337 Report post Posted May 26, 2015 I'm sure most if not all of us have seen Casino Royale, and either appreciated or cringed at the multi-million-dollar product placement scene in the Bahamas where Bond picks up a very nice yet modest rental car: I just had a thought about how freaking awesome it would be if we could see the current Fusion/Mondeo in a Bond film, preferably driven by Bond. The 2.0L Ecoboost AWD version would actually be the ideal model to use, rather than the hybrid, because of its "manly engine sound" (sorry Atkinson!) and how the AWD is more appropriate for tight cornering (like during a car chase perhaps?). Also, when you're fleeing the bad guys or pursuing them, you want, at the minimum, the 2.0L's 240hp with good torque and acceleration. And yes, it's got the cool Aston Martin-esque grille, but that's far from the only reason this car would look great in a Bond film :) Hell, if I had a good camera and any acting talents I'd grab some friends and recreate that Casino Royale scene using my FFH (would want to film it in electric mode as the engine sound isn't "cool"). Come to think of it, my province (British Columbia) is a great place to set some action scenes in a Bond film... I can just picture a frantic chase with guns-ablazing down the mountain portion of the Sea-to-Sky Highway. Unlikely to ever happen, but I can dream, can't I? machoman1337 Report post Posted May 27, 2015 Hmm the concept of a Fusion ST is cool although (personal preference) I can't say I like that body kit very much :) I've always been a "stock look" kind of guy no matter what car it is. I think a Mondeo Vignale might also suit Bond very well: 2 hybridbear and Hybrider reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted May 27, 2015 How about a new Lincoln Continental? 1 hybridbear reacted to this
Hybrider Report post Posted May 27, 2015 I do like that new Lincoln Continental concept quite a bit. But when is compared side-by-side with the Vignale above, it looks a little bit staid.
GrySql Report post Posted May 27, 2015 Yeah, but it shoots oil out the tail lights and has machine guns in the headlights. Then, of course, the wheels turn into propellers for underwater jaunts. I think... ;) 5 machoman1337, Hybrider, corncobs and 2 others reacted to this
machoman1337 Report post Posted June 1, 2015 How about a new Lincoln Continental? It's nice, but I find it more suitable for chauffeuring M around London. Still, it wouldn't look out of place with Bond behind the wheel. Remember that scene in Skyfall where he "kidnaps" M by commandeering her Jaguar XJ? Yeah, but it shoots oil out the tail lights and has machine guns in the headlights. Then, of course, the wheels turn into propellers for underwater jaunts. I think... ;) You forgot ejector seats ;)
