C-Max Low 12V Battery Customer Satisfaction Program

Recommended Posts

I know this is a Fusion forum but I found this advanced notice of a Cmax recall. Maybe it will carry over to the Fusion?

Actually its not a recall, but its for "Customer Satisfaction"

Interesting, for Canada. It would explain why some cars have low 12v batteries.

Interesting. I wonder if it will happen in the USA too... I've read some of the threads on the C-Max Forum. It seems like a lot more of them have battery issues than FFHs. The Energi models don't usually have low 12V battery issues since they charge the 12V while connected to the EVSE.

Edit: I updated the topic title since it isn't actually a recall...

There is a similar bulletin for the USA, it's good for one year.

Last November I got a new 12V battery from Ford because the powertrain reprogramming procedure for a recall failed - a bad battery was the cause of the problem.

Turns out the battery had died and been recharged several times when sitting at the original dealer's lot in Toronto (it's a former demonstrator car). That also explained why the "Accessory Mode" in the ignition never worked up till then.

I was without my FFH for a whole night because of this (they had to ship a new battery from Edmonton), and I absolutely hated the loaner Fiesta they gave me.
