krbujak Report post Posted April 23, 2015 In two months, the alarm in my 2015 FFH has triggered three times for seemingly no reason. Twice, I came out to the car with the alarm on, and once the alarm triggered as I was getting out of the car. I will bring it to the dealer, but they can't do anything unless they can observe the problem happening. I'm am certain that they will not observe the problem when they have it because the problem too infrequent. What triggers the alarm? I'm assuming there are door/trunk sensors. Are there any other sensors that could be faulty? Are any alarm codes saved that the dealer can access to determine the root cause of the issue? Thanks! md13ffhguy Report post Posted April 23, 2015 I once had a Mitsubishi Galant with the same problem. Evidently, the sensor for the hood was set right at the threshold and it would be set off by changes in ambient temperature, mostly around 3am... Hopefully, your neighbors are as understanding as mine were! 1 krbujak reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted April 23, 2015 Welcome to the Forum! We've heard of a few security alarm problems and many times the keyless entry keypad was found to be faulty. The Dealer can look for DTC codes and test the system. You can also send a Vehicle Health Report to check if any simple code is stored. The Dealer Test Mode (Engineering Test Mode) is also available for you to check for error codes. Finally, send a PM to Meagan at FordService, our Ford Customer Service Rep on this Forum. She can help with your Dealer experience.
Easy Rider Report post Posted April 24, 2015 but they can't do anything unless they can observe the problem happening. They CAN do a lot but usually won't because, I believe, they won't get paid unless they come up with some concrete "fix".They can check connections associated with the alarms. They can test sensors. Maybe other stuff. If all they do is scan for codes and try to give it back to you, you should ask to talk to the Service Manager. 1 krbujak reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted April 24, 2015 Are you accidentally bumping the panic button on your key fob? I've had it get bumped in my pocket and set the alarm off while doing things around the house or while at the store, etc. 1 corncobs reacted to this

Health Report and Dealer Test Mode check out okay. I'll see what happens next week at the dealer, and I'll follow-up with Meagan if they can't help. krbujak Report post Posted April 24, 2015 Are you accidentally bumping the panic button on your key fob? I've had it get bumped in my pocket and set the alarm off while doing things around the house or while at the store, etc.It is possible, thanks for the idea. If the alarm is triggered by the panic button, is it possible to stop the alarm with the fob (by clicking unlock or lock or something)? All of my alarm situations require me to get in and start the car.

Thanks!I have noticed that the right rear door doesn't shut properly. The top edge of the door (along the chrome strip) sticks out about 1/4". I'm wondering if the door is improperly aligned, and with some temperature changes and expansion/contraction, trips the alarm. I'll have the dealer look into that. If the alarm is triggered by the panic button, is it possible to stop the alarm with the fob (by clicking unlock or lock or something)? All of my alarm situations require me to get in and start the car.If it is the panic button then pushing the panic button again should stop it. I'm not sure about pushing unlock. nv rick Report post Posted April 25, 2015 I had a problem a few times when getting out of my '14 MKZ-h. I keep the fob in my pocket and when getting out, my leg would press against the bottom of the steering wheel.I have recently enabled the easy entry/exit assist so I won't have that happen again. And I believe that the only way to shut it off is by pressing the alarm button. corncobs Report post Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) Are you accidentally bumping the panic button on your key fob? I've had it get bumped in my pocket and set the alarm off while doing things around the house or while at the store, etc.Or have a kid that likes to play with car keys (especially with the one with red icon) if they can be reached. It's fun for him but not fun for neighbors. :) Edited April 26, 2015 by corncobs
