Hello All! This will be my first addition to this forum... And I am here with a question. Does anyone know if this sound is normal when my engine starts? I've started to notice sort of a rattle on cold starts, or if it's been a little bit since the engine has been on. And the engine sounds kind of grumbly...Otherwise, it drives perfectly fine, with no issues*. I just don't want issues to appear and it be too late... any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! (2019 FFH SE with about 80k miles) *other than the battery randomly dying (got it checked and the battery was good)... but seems like the mpg has gotten worse...(used to get around 35 avg, now getting about 27 avg) IMG_3141.mov

Last night on my way home from work I noticed a metal-on-metal noise. I stopped to check under the car to see if anything was dragging, etc and couldn't see any issue. The sound was intermittent and didn't appear to be associated with acceleration, braking, or steering as I could not replicate the sound. Then I started the pull up the mountain right before I get home and it sounded like someone was sharpening knives in front of my driver's side. I suspect the transmission issue that was supposed to be fixed on this year model is bullshit and it isn't fixed. I've called the dealership and am waiting on a call back to find out if it's even safe to drive it there or if I need to have it towed. I am still under the Hybrid 8yr/100k warranty and I am NOT going to let them brush me off until the transmission fails and I'm out of the warranty. Posting here for advice/thoughts and to see if anyone else had had this problem in the later model FFHs. I would LOVE for this to be not the transmission, but my gut is telling me it is.

I have a 2013 ford fusion energi (hybrid plug-in) and the car is bucking when slowing down to a stop. Not all the time but I notice it's doing it when the engine is running to charge hybrid battery. I'm thinking it's the transmission. The car is no longer under warranty (130,000 miles). Can I take it to any transmission repair shop or should I take it to the Ford Dealer?

Love the car. Took it in for my 2nd free oil change (8200 miles on car) and they called and said during their inspection, they found the transmission to be leaking. They said the case is basically 2 pieces and the seal between the 2 is leaking. 2-3 days estimated to fix. I really hate the idea that they have to pull the transmission to repair. On a positive side, at least I can say they actually did do the inspection. Searching the forums, I really don't see any leaking transmission issues discussed. Is this the 1st you guys have heard of?
