2010 FFH AC condensate drain location - wet carpet
FFHinVA posted a topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
2010 FFH with 130K miles in Virginia AC works great I have been noticing a damp carpet (and maybe a slight smell) in front passenger's footwell. Bottom of floormat had condensation, carpet underneath was damp. I first thought this was occurring after rain but I think it actually occurs after long road trips with AC on. I just now pulled up/back carpet under glove box area. Sound deadening cloth/under pad is soaked. Area is drying out now (I propped up carpet with plastic containers) in sun and directed fan as best I could. (I would prefer notto have to take the seats out ? ) This is a common problem on all cars in that the condensate drain gets clogged up and water backs up into cabin. Also, gasket around drain through firewall may deteriorate and water drips back on drain pipe and through firewall. I searched internet for pics of AC drain. It should be on opposite side of condenser heater core plastic box low point. Some internet posts show a stub pipe coming out. Difficult to see on hybrid because ABS module is in way of view. Some have added a right angle elbow to direct condensate downward and silicone around firewall hole. Any easy way to get to drain and clean out? I even thought of cutting 1/2" hole on bottom of box on cabin side, and then seal with plug. I tried finding this topic on this site, but no luck.-

Hello, I've been hearing load sounds in my 2010 Fusion Hybrid for several months. The dealer believes it's the transmission, but since that is a roughly $7,000 repair I'm reluctant to replace it - especially since the Dealer can't confirm that through their diagnostic testing. It has a CVT transmission. I took it to a transmission place and he believes the sounds are not coming from the transmission. The Dealer told me if the sounds stop when the car is put into neutral that is a confirmation of the problem. However, I don't feel any slippage or jerking. For now I am continuing to drive it but the noises are pretty loud and I would like to diagnosis it definitively. The symptoms are listed below. If anyone has suggestions, or if you have experienced something similar please let me know. Thank you. Car must be driven for approximately 15 miles or idled with the engine on for roughly 45 minutesSounds will be heard emanating from front on the vehicle – generally from the driver side. It will sound as though something is rubbing or scraping against something - thumping sounds may also be heardSounds are most prevalent at a low speeds (under 10 mph) and when the brakes are being applied or when first accelerating
