There use to be a kit by 3M sold over the counter the was a fuel induction system. Maybe that was the kit you seen. I have no clue why you would hook up to the brake line unless your doing a brake fluid flush. Unless somehow the brake line gives the system pressure. I know in the shop we use compressed air/air hose for the induction system.. Either way you should notice a difference if you are carboned up.

So I have a few pics of my new intake! I am doing this from my EVO Android phone. Not the best but will do. Here is the first pic of my Takeda intake. <a 2011-01-29-10-37-46-227 by smiles025b, on Flickr Here is a pic of the stainless steel Spectre breather filter I bought for the evap line. Because there is only one fitting on the Takeda. It does come with a cap to cap off the extra line. But I figure it be better to make it breathe. Plus the Filter I added actually looks pretty good. IMAG0168 by smiles025b, on Flickr IMAG0170 by smiles025b, on Flickr And another pic of the intake. 2011-01-29-10-37-34-837 by smiles025b, on Flickr My impression of this system.... ... It is of a good build quality. Looks are very good. My techs at work are impressed with the look and quality. ... sound... maybe the fact that I moded out the factory air box... but I actually find it a bit quieter than before. What I think is happening... instead of that growl I had from before as you punched the gas... the car just moves. The throttle response is there. No lag like before. When on freeway and I am at 50 and punch it... man you notice it. It just keeps pulling. But dyno really feels it. I had to fuel up my tank.. interesting before the intake.. miles to empty would read 370 to 380 to empty. After fueling up with the intake on... the miles to empty read 415 miles to empty. Hmmmn would be nice if I get 1 to 2 mpg better. I put over 25k on a year. I really like where it is mounted. Pulls air in where the stock intake does. Away from the hot engine bay. I like the fact that it is a dryflow filter. It states if you vacum it. It will bring it back to 96% like new. If you wash it 100% new. So all in all I really like the look and quality. It is a nice system for our Fusion 3.0's I am happy. Hope the links/pics work. Oh forgot to add.. after 140 miles no check engine lights. A good thing.

Oldguy16. I agree 9 to 12 HP is really not much to make a big difference. But I can say on my end... the throttle response is much better than before. That 9 HP is peak I would assume. So in reality you probably would only feel it on the highway in the 2,500 rpm range and higher. As for the BG 44K. I worked at a Chrysler dealer. We sold a BG44K fuel induction system. One of the few products that actually did.what it claimed. You could really see/ feel a night and day difference. Cust would also say the same thing. If the Ford dealer sells the fuel induction service that is with BG product. It is worth trying. Just had a coworker run it on his F150 yesterday. He had an intake gasket leak he ran the induction Then tore it down. His truck has over 200k on it. You could see how carboned up it was. That stuff broke a lot of it down. It just wiped off with his fingers. If he ran it for awhile after doing the induction it would have probably cleaned most out on it's own. I currently work at a BMW dealer. The 335 turbo motors are starting to see the carbon build up. Mini motors with the turbo's direct injection are having some really bad carbon build up issues. We don't have mini at our store. Just hear from my techs what they are told in training. BMW has their own fuel induction service. So if they have their own... there is some validity to the stuff working. BMW also sells stuff you put in the fuel tank. It is Techron just in a BMW bottle. Okay rambled on enough.

I ended up going with the Takeda intake for our fusion. They claim 9hp and 9 lbs of torque with this system. I went with the Takeda because it is mounted farther away from the engine. More to where the stock intake pulls air in from the front fender area. I noticed a big throttle response/improvement. Plus on highway if you are say doing 50 and mash the pedal all the way down. It just pulls. You can really feel it then. It was only $199.99 at summit racing. It's only been on for a few hours. So still seeing how it all works. Lol. One note about sluggishness.... buy two... yes two bottles of Techron fuel treatment. Put both into the fuel tank at once with a ful tank of gas. Try that. Or go to the Ford dealership and buy a can of BG44K(STUFF WORKS). Having worked in the service side of dealerships.. that stuff works. You could just be all carboned up from the poor fuel quality we have here in the states. I just recently did this to my car. Really made a diff for me. I am at 51,600 miles. A lot of the newer direct injection / turbo cars are having a lot of issues with carbon build up. It's worth a try.

My filter came in late yesterday! Man summit racing ships fast!. Will try to install at work today. One note. There is no spot for the evap line. They do have a cap in the kit. I guess it's to cap off the evap line. I may just put one of those little breather filters on that you can get from the local parts store. Will keep you posted. It does look nice.

so summit racing has this for $199.99. I put my order in for one. I should have it here by Friday. I really like the look and quality it appears to have. I will keep you all posted as to how it looks and sounds in person.

JET Performance 69190 - JET Powr-Flow Mass Air Meters??
fus10 replied to fus10's topic in News & Reviews
Well I did remove the secondary cat and resonator from under my fusion (kept stock muffler for now). Has to be a a little more flow coming out. something tells me this might give you more of a chance to have a check engine light pop up down the road. -
Seen this on Jegs.com http://www.jegs.com/i/JET+Performance/561/69190/10002/-1 Claims up to 45% increase? It's by JET. Just curious. Never seen this before for our fusion 3.0's before. Anyone have this?

Thank you for the write up. That was exactly what I am hoping for when I go with a CAI. 2 mpg isn't bad. How do you like the steeda intake?
-
Oldguy16, Thanks. I live up here in South East Michigan. I hate the winter fuel. Always lose mpg when they switch. I have an 07 AWD SE. I knew going in mpgs were going to be lower. But with projected fuel prices going up to $5 in some parts in a year or so(so the analysts say).. every little increase in mpg helps. Will look foward to your results.
-
Oldguy16... that's what I was thinking. 1 to 2 mpg. I drive 75 miles a day. If I could get 1 to 2 mpg from the intake.... then put on some magnaflo's And get another 1 to 2 mpg.. doesn't seem like much. But I put on over 25,000 a year. So it adds up over time. Plus it would sound better.

I like the fact that you just wash the filter with soap and water let dry. And your in your way again. No messy oil to use. Still reading up on it. Just looking for a little more sound and maybe 1 to 2 mpg gain. I put on over 25,000 miles per year. So every mpg helps.

Was wondering if the Takeda intake for our 3.0 with the dry AFE filter was any good. It looks like it is made of good quality. Anyone have this, or know of anything good or bad about it?. Thinking of putting this on my car.

I have an 07 AWD. Very easy to change the oil on this car. I always use the factory oil filter(it is a good design). I use Pennzoil platinum or ultra 5w20 oil. I like that oil. I don't find 6 quarts that much oil (BMW's use 7.5 to 8.5 quarts). The recommended interval is 7,500 miles. It is always better to have more oil to keep things clean. I really like this 3.0 engine. So far this year I have put on 20,000 miles on it.

I put 4(205/55/R16) of these on last week on my fusion.. I must say they have to be one of the quieter set of tires I have ever installed! I am very happy with these tires so far. I have put about 250 miles on them so far. They handle great. Would highly recommend these tires to anyone. Especially since winter is coming.
