The ones that we have are actually 8 years old. We bought them for our 2002 Taurus. My wife liked them so much, I needed to take them out of the Taurus and put in the new Fusion. They wear really well ... the material still seems like new. Our discontinued model is Recaro SE. You can still find them on eBay used sometimes (~ $300/$400 range). Recaro's newer version that is similar to ours is called the Recaro Specialist. I think these sell in the $800/$900 range. Good luck to you!

I know what you mean about the new car smell. I know most people like the smell, but the truth is, the "outgassing" that occurs in the first few months can be harmful. My wife has MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivty). I've removed the front leather seats and installed Recaro aftermarket cloth seats (for another reason other than the smell ) in our 2011 Fusion SEL. But even with only the back leather seats, a month after purchase the smell is still very strong. We're going to get the backseat leather removed tomorro at a local upholstery shop. We bought matching Recaro material, so I think it should look pretty nice. But, these are extreme measures ... according to this Wikipedia link ... most outgassing is reduced to tolerable levels after the first few months. Link to Wikipedia New Car Smell

I just installed some aftermarket Recaro seats in my wife's 2011 Fusion. Haven't really thought about what to do with the left over front charcoal leather covers, but if you are interested maybe we can work something out.
