  1. Don't know if anything's "officially" wrong, but like most factory car stereos, you're not going to get great quality. I agree that it's underpowered, I can crank mine up, USB, radio or satellite and it just never seems like it gets that loud. Is this a byproduct of "We don't want to get sued for damaging your hearing", I don't know. I'm not a great fan of Sony, but you would think with 12 speakers, you could get some substantial volume and hey, even dynamic range, but the fact that all you're given for sound control is bass, treble, balance, fade and speed compensation(I won't even mention stereo vs surround because all it does is make it even quieter) is weak at best. With a 12 speaker sound system, they should at least give you some kind of multi-channel equalizer to tailor the sound to those of us that aren't tone deaf.
  2. I just got my 2010 SEL on Saturday. I'm a computer programmer/techie and usually learn by just playing around, but with Sync, there's a lot, so I thought I would pose some questions here and hopefully get some advice. I have the Sony 12 speaker package. 1. When playing mp3, wma, etc from the USB, is there any kind of option to "normalize" the tracks so they all play at the same volume? 2. Speaking of volume, is there some way to override the max volume? Even playing Sirius, I can crank it all the way up and it just doesn't seem that loud. 3. I'm having a hard time getting the audio to sound "good". I realize that most factory sound systems won't be on par with aftermarket systems, but considering the Sync integration, I'm not sure how difficult an aftermarket solution would be. What I've noticed is that even with the bass all the way up and the treble considerably down, it still sounds tinny. Short of unplugging the tweeters by the mirrors, I'm not sure what else I can do. 4. I've seen some demonstrations of MyFord Touch that allow you to control radio(AM/FM) and satellite via voice. Any chance that the rest of us with just Sync can get an update to do the same? If nothing else, is there an easy way I can include a power amp into the existing system to clean things up a bit? I love Sync, but in regards to the rest of the audio system, I'm a little disappointed. Thanks in advance for any advice.
