  1. Ah, I get it now. Thanks for the clarification! I'm going to ask Ford if they can replace the second key code (the one from the missing key which I never received when I got my car) with my new key code in the car's memory. Hopefully that won't be a problem, because I don't like the idea that there's another key floating around out there that will access and operate my car. I know the car went through the Ford auction and ended up at a dealership, so the chances of the person with that key ever finding out who bought the car, and tracking it down are probably next to none, but still.
  2. Hi bbf2530. Thanks for the response! I just got my 2010 Fusion a little over two weeks ago. It's used, and it only came with 1 key. Maybe that's why my local service department told me what they did? Hopefully they're neither misinformed or trying to make an extra buck off me, but I guess that could be the case. Either way, when I explained to them that I only had 1 key, and wanted to get a second, they said it was going to cost $160 for the key from them, plus $100 to get it programmed. I asked about what kind of warranty would be on it, since it was coming directly from them, and that's when they said it would be covered only as an accessory for 1 year. So to save myself what I could, I opted to grab one off of eBay for $60, and I'm taking it in tonight to get it programmed. Also, I got the impression the other poster here was talking about purchasing a new key, not re-programming an existing key. Maybe I misunderstood!
  3. My local service dept. says a key falls under the "accessories" portion of the warranty and is only covered for something like 20,000 km / 1 yr.
