Thanks for the reply. I'm glad yours is good. Mine was built 11/09. I went to two Ford dealers today and inspected about 120 Fusions! (They were all lined up, it didn't really take me that long.) Out of about 120, 118 had the defect I'm talking about. I can see it immediately. I found only 2 that were "good", "smooth". I probably overstated the defect by calling it a dent. It's really closer to "read through" of the ribs or stantions on the under side of the hood. I saw it today in all colors, except white, you can only tell by watching the waviness of a sharp line reflection in the hood, as your eye passes over the hood. (The edge of a building, telephone line or light pole that's nearby.) If you look at a slight angle from horizontal, from the side of the car, or look at a hood from a distance from the side, you can see the ripple in all (well, 99%) of the 2010 Fusions. They look like 2, 3 or 4 little "puddles". It's there. I know that 99% of owners will not notice this, but being in automotive (in the Detroit area) I see these things. Honestly I think Ford goofed up. I bet they fix it soon though. I'm going to call them on Monday. My dealer's body shop offered to try and fix it, but I hate to have them hack on it, and it'll probably not get fixed anyway. Too difficult. These 2010 hoods are like flat mirrors. Thanks again for your reply. I had one other reply and the guy said his car was made in early 2009. Maybe they made a slight change in the underhood structure mid-year which is causing this. Oh well. Really it's a minor thing, it's not a Rolls Royce. Time to move on in life! Take care.
