  1. In my case, I registered my radio with them.....there should be a booklet with you owners manual that explains how to do it. If you do register your radio, they will send you emails with various offers. If after you register and your "free subscription" runs out, they will email a "one time special offer" at a reduced price. You should be able to (as I do) get a 1 year subscription for about 1/3 price. After 1 year you'll have to be sure to cancel or they will automatically renew the plan at the FULL price. If they do renew it ,then you will have to pay a $70. penalty to cancel it. So, I have to call them and cancel the last month on my 1 year special rate. In order to get you back the cycle will start over again. The secret is to mark it on you calendar so you won't forget....if someone forgets.....they got you! ( I might add, they will wave the $15. reactivation fee with the "special offer.) '.
  2. I let my "free subscription" expire and then they notified me that I could buy a full year at $6.70 a month and then at the end of the year it would jump to full price. So I've taken it at the "special offer" price and will I will cancel it again at the end of 12 months. Then we shall see if they offer a "special deal"......I will not pay the regular price. Sirus told me " low profit is better then no profit.........lets see how Sirus they are in 1 year.
  3. From cold start up till the engine is at operating temperature the fuel/air mixture must be richer with fuel for the engine to run proper. We have had a cold winter that is making the problem even worse. I also have a 2010 3.0 and have seen a decline in MPG this winter. With my driving , mixing suburbs and highway, in the summer I average 28 but now only 25 ( that's with about 1 cold start in every 20 miles). My MPG average can even get worse, depending on how many Chevy's I catch at red lights while on the highway !
  4. Wow man, I thought this was a very easy question to answer........but you sure opened a "can of worms"!!!
  5. I would add that the Fusion Duratec engine has 24 valves vs. the 12 valves in the 4.0 engine in the mustang. The 3.0 breaths in much more air at those high RPM's. BUT...I wouldn't want to drag race the 2011 Mustang v6 with my 2010 30 fusion....it's a different game now. The 2011 Mustang V6 has the same engine design as the fusion but 305 HP from the 3.7 L V6. BTW...the new 2011 Mustang 5.0 (w/ over 400 HP) V8 also has the same DOC design as the Fusion 3.0 / 3.5 V6. These are the best engines Ford has ever made, in respect to power to L displacement ...results = much better power and fuel economy!
  6. This 6F35 Transmixer is a result of a joint effort in engineering between FoMoCo and GM (Government Motors) !! What was Ford thinking? Want Proof? Read This. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/ford-moving-to-six-speed-automatics/
  7. I think Bill Ford is a brilliant man for having put Alan Mulally at the helm of Ford Motor Co.! I love my 2010 Fusion and am proud to support this great American Icon! FORD - Drive One ! :D
  8. I have a 2010 Fusion SE V6 .....My language is English and my average fuel mileage on the "message center" reads, at the moment, 28.9 Yes, it reads down to 0 .1 gallon.
  9. mwright , I have the same car you have and must say the V6 is a marvel in Ford's engine technology. Two weeks ago I drove 1100 miles on I-95 at speeds between 65 to 80 mph and averaged 29.8 MPG. I made a trip yesterday afternoon about 150 miles and decided to set the cruse at 55 mph to keep a steady pace and got an average MPG reading of 35.7 when I got back home! Who else has a car with 240 hp , that's not a hybrid and can get such mileage on E10 gasoline?? I want to do a test on E-85 but can't find any nearby. Have you checked your Fusion for MPG's?
  10. I know the answer to one of your questions......the belt drive is for the water pump. I think earlier models of the 3.0 had a cover over the pulleys and belt. I have yet to learn how to replace the belt......maybe someone else can answer that.
  11. If anyone is interested......you can get one month of FREE car washes if any of them are in your area. I know it is true, because I got my car washed last week when I was in Portland,ME. (I live in Maryland) I will send the link - check it out.. http://www.newcarswashfree.com/index.asp?page=locations
  12. This is the first new car I have bought........in my younger years I bought Chrysler products but after getting a used '93 Taurus GL I got hooked on the Taurus. I bought an '02 SES and a '06 SE, off lease, and loved these cars more then any other cars I had owned. The good "off lease" car pool has dried up a bit in this present economy. So the Fusion was the size car I wanted to replace my '06 Taurus. A few weeks ago I bought a copy of the 2010 Fusion SE 3.0 V6 and now after 800+ miles on it I am just amazed at what Ford has done with this car. Everything about this car is five star!! I am averaging 29 mpg ( I live in the country) but on the highway the mpg's climb to 32, and it's not even broken in yet. To be honest, I could get better mpg's if I can keep my foot off the go peddle!!! ........the V6 Duratec is very strong and yet just sips gas. I love Fords, but this Fusion has exceeded all expectations that I had of it.
