  1. Don't you just love it when you figure out the fix before anyone replies? After an hour on the phone with 3 different customer service techs at Sirius, and a call to Ford Customer Service, I was told by all that it couldn't be fixed. Soooo, sitting in the car today, I tried pressing the "scan" button and it fixed the problem! I now have all three Sat channels available to me. Hope this helps someone else. . . .
  2. The three satellite channels on my Ford Synch radio are all locked because they are set to channels not included in my subscription. All controls are grayed out and inoperable. Four calls to Sirius customer support have not fixed the problem. I've also tried doing a full reset on Synch. Anyone have a suggestion on how to get Sirius unlocked.
  3. I fought with Ford and my dealer for more than a year until someone on this forum directed me to a Canadian dealer who knew the fix. That was in late 2018. My six months of appeals to Ford Motor went to several layers of management, and I finally got results when I wrote to the Chairman's Office! Ford eventually reimbursed me for over $500 in repairs, but refused, of course, to admit any responsibility. I'm glad to see that Ford has FINALLY issued a tech bulletin so others can get the fix with much less trouble than I experienced.
  4. The driver seat on 2010 FFH works intermittently. It usually doesn't work, but occasionally will work. When I press the seat heater control button, the pilot light goes on for a couple seconds, then goes out. Repeating this action repeats the same results. On rare occasions, the light stays on and the seat heats normally. The passenger seat heater always works, so I don't think it's a fuse. Any ideas?
  5. Here's a strange situation: Sometimes (about half the time) when I turn on the driver side seat heater, the pilot light comes on, but then goes out about 2 seconds later. Repeating the attempt, the same thing happens repeatedly, in both high and low setting.. The passenger side seat heater always works as designed. Of course, I only notice this during winter months when I attempt to use the heater! Any ideas?
  6. My concern is that I recently discovered that the Daytime Running Lights only activate the headlamps, and do not provide any lights in the rear. It took me six months of arguing with Ford Corporate back in 2010 to get the DRL activated, and I don't want to go through that again! I think I might have the only 2010 FFH in the U.S. with DRL.
  7. Does anyone know how to adjust the sensitivity of the automatic headlights? I'd like mine to come on earlier at dusk or rainy days, but I cannot find any owner adjustment.
  8. I figured it out and the replacement is done! It sure helps to have small hands!! Recommended procedure is to remove the battery to gain access to driver side low beam, but I managed to get my hands into the very small space in front of the battery to access the fixture. It sure would be easier if Ford had put a longer pigtail on the socket.
  9. Any advice on how to replace the low beam lamp on driver's side headlamp? Owners manual, of course, says to see my dealer!
  10. WOW! The "fix" has worked! I just got my 2010 FFH back from my Ford dealer who applied the fix that Rodney shared with this forum: "The fellow's name is Michael, a service manager in Steinbach. Fairway Ford, Phone: (204) 326-3412" At my insistence, my dealer called Fairway Ford and got the specific instruction that he needed to reset the "battery age" to 1 year. My car now runs as it was intended, in full hybrid mode. I can achieve nearly 35 mph in electric mode on a flat surface, and have improved mpg back to where it was before the problem. The hesitation when accelerating from a stop has disappeared, which makes me very happy since this was a really dangerous condition. An added bonus is the fact that the dealer waived the $100 fee for this service, probably because of all the money that I spent in the past trying to eliminate the problem. Many, many thanks to Rodney for sharing this success. We all owe him our thanks.
  11. Jake 1110, My Ford dealer called Charles Gabus Ford in Des Moines, IA, and talked to Phillip in the service department, but Phillip was unable to help him with the fix. He says he needs the customer name and/or the vehicle number in order to look it up! Can you supply either to me? Thanks for the help.
  12. Thanks, Allen, for this detailed instruction on how to "fix" the FFH battery problem. I took my car in to my Ford dealer this morning for the annual state inspection AND the resetting of the HVB setting. I gave him the name of the Des Moines Ford dealer that Rodney had used, but I also sent a copy of your posting to him now in order to assist his Hybrid Tech in doing he reset. The Service Manager told me this morning that he has had complaints about this problem from several other FFH owners, and that he will be excited about advising them of this "fix" if it works for me. I realize that your posting was intended to tell me how to do this reset myself, but I'm a coward about messing with the operating computer, so I'll pay the dealer to do it. More news later!
  13. Great News, Jake1110. I'll use your experience to force my dealer (or some other local Ford dealer) to perform this fix. By the way, today I sent a registered letter to the President of Ford North America asking him to try to get a response to my letter sent on May 13, 2019 to the VP of Safety at Ford. We'll see if that gets any reaction.
  14. Great news from Rodney. I'll beat my dealer over the head with it when I take my 2010 FFH in for inspection next week. On the subject of driving conditions, I just returned from a week-long trip the South Carolina and experienced 98 degree conditions on the return trip, but the hybrid performance did not change even in the high temperature environment. I'm looking forward to getting the dealer to use the date-reset procedure to see if it works. I've written to the Vice President & Director of Safety at Ford Motor about the unsafe condition caused by the engine hesitation, but no response yet. I'm not surprised, but I'll send another letter by Registered Mail in a couple weeks. (Maybe with copies to other Ford executives as well)
  15. Apparently Ford thinks that ten years is the life of the vehicle!
