  1. Yes. The official Fusion website shows a six button model, the brochure shows a bi-directional model, but the actual factory-installed model is a single button, single feature fob. However, the bi-directional model can be installed as an accessory by the dealer, but at a much higher price.
  2. Those must be the "all-weather" floormats. The ones I am speaking of are called "Premium Floormats" and are available directly from the factory at the time of order. The normal ones are carpeted and have no design on them. The "Premium mats" have the word "Fusion" written on them, but in my car, only the drivers has the logo; the others are plain.
  3. Okay, I guess that two keys may just be the standard these days.
  4. Yea, the accessory site is very buggy and only really works in Internet Explorer, although I have gotten it to work with Google Chrome. The prices from Ford seem much better than those from the dealer, so if it actually works, I would highly recommend this method. Like you said, try to find a dealer in your area that says "Order Online" so you don't have to deal directly with the dealer for payment.
  5. Yea, I can't say that I'm really happy with this dealer, but he did give me the best price. I don't want to fail him on the survey and make him never want to deal with bargain-hunters again, but at the same time, he wasn't all "5 stars" either. I guess I'll see when I finally get the survey from Ford.
  6. Well, I tried and failed. The dealer claimed complete ignorance and said that mine was the first car he had ever got remote start for and he didn't know how it worked. As well, he said that their dealership really wasn't an accessory installation dealership and that they only have one guy that can install stuff like that. He claimed to have talked to the person that would install it, but I don't think he really did. I explained why the bidirectional model was important to me, but he didn't see what the difference was. When I finally picked up the vehicle, he went on and on about how it would have been $1000 more for the bidirectional model. I just gave up... Oh well... The good news is that the one button remote start fob is actually quite small. From the pictures, I thought that it was about the size of the old Ford keyless entry fobs, but the remote start fobs are thin and about half that size. I would say maybe 1'' by 0.5'' and only about 0.25'' thick, if that.
  7. If you are considering sill plates, I definitely recommend purchasing them through the aforementioned ford accessory website. I was able to get them for about $250, parts and labor, all paid online. I tried to get them installed by the dealer I purchased the car from, but he wanted $250 for the parts and $190 for labor--almost twice as much!! At least if you buy it straight from Ford, they won't try to screw you...
  8. I just finally received my new factory-ordered FFH after exactly a two month waiting period. Woohoo!! I just have a few questions... 1.) I ordered the "premium floormats" from the factory, which was $50 more expensive. On the Ford website, they show the floormats that say "Fusion" on both the driver's and passenger's side; however, when I took delivery, only the driver's mat has the logo. Has anyone else ordered it this way? If so, did you get two "Fusion" mats or one? 2.) When I took delivery, the dealer gave me two keys for the car and I had a third cut (a flip key). I know that in the past, most vehicles came with a third "valet key" that lacks the remote entry module and only opens the doors and starts the engine. Did anyone receive this third key when they took delivery or is two the standard number these days? Thanks for your help--I hope to post some pictures soon!
  9. Thanks, I'll send him an e-mail and see if I can get a replacement screw.
  10. My flip key (same design / model) seems to only have one screw. On the other side, there is just an empty hole. Should there be a screw on both sides?
  11. Thanks for the reply. I'm going to try and see if I can convince them to install #4 instead. On the Ford accessory website it's not really that much of a price difference between the two. In fact, I would be willing to pay the difference (I'm an engineer--gotta have the features!)
  12. How do you know exactly which remote start system you will receive? I did a factory order on my vehicle and ordered the remote start, but have not received the vehicle to check and see what model was installed... It just says "PowerCode Remote Start." Can anyone else that ordered the factory installed option let me know which model you received? Here are the possibilities I can find from the Ford documentation: 1.) 2.) 3.) 4.) If you select "Price and Build" on the FFH website, the image shown for the system is #1, but the description says it only has "one button" like #3. If you go to Ford's accessory website, it shows a selection between #3 or #4, which is confirmed by the installation documentation for the remote start interface. To me, #3 has the worst offering of features and is the cheapest. #4 claims to have the longest range, and is bi-directional (it responds when the car turns on). However, if you check the installation instructions for #1, it can be connected in such a way that you can remotely activate your headlights and rear defroster. #2 seems to be a watered-down version of #1. Do you think there is a way that the dealer can be convinced to install a certain model? I don't want to be paying for a more expensive model, but then receive a cheap one. I included the installation instructions for each model as an attachment (#4 is included in the previous post). Sorry for the long drawn-out post, I just want to be sure I'm getting my money's worth... 1.pdf 2.pdf 3.pdf
  13. I know that Ford has not been offering incentives on the FFH since its inception, but according to this article, both 0% APR and cash back are now available. Granted, the news source doesn't seem that trustworthy (look at the informal tone of the article), but it would be great if this is true! I checked Ford's site and they still do not list any incentives for the FFH. I wonder where that news source is getting their information... Also, is customer cash back usually available on factory orders? The fine print usually says it's for vehicles "in dealer stock."
  14. I placed my order on 9/11/2009 and was given a build date of 10/12/2009. I called today and the dealer said that it was currently on the assembly line and would definitely be delivered by 11/9/09--not that that is the actual delivery date, just that it will be no later than that date. Still no VIN... :(
