  1. I bought my 2007 Fusion a couple of week ago, and am beginning to consider things to upgrading my sound system. I haven't fully decided if I'll want to install a new headunit or not. My first question is, does anyone know any specs on the stock headunit? Things that would matter if hooking up external amps, s/n ratio and the such. I have the 6 cd/mp3 unit. Second question, if I were to get a new headunit, how can I keep the stock aux input in the console? I've seen people talking about the pie adapters, but that seems geared to adding a new input. If I were to go from the jack in the console and follow it back toward the headunit, what would I find on the other side? Or could I just get a headunit with a rear aux input and run a new cable to the spot in the console and make it fit? My last question is, what do I need to look for in a headunit in order to be able to keep the steering wheel controls? Is that a feature of the headunit, or the wiring harness? Thanks for all help! I always like to do my research and try to know what I'm getting into before starting any project.
  2. Thanks for posting this, I plan to upgrade the system in mine at some point and was wondering where everything was. I've never had to deal with power windows/locks in taking off door panels either. Glad to see it seems simple. Can you give any input as to how much clearance there is on either end of the speakers? From the front of the speaker to the panel, and from the rear to where the window goes when opened?
  3. Can you please elaborate on this a bit? When I had my old car (98 cavalier) tinted, all they told me was to 'go outside and press on the tint so it sticks' and that didn't work, it's still bubbled to this day and it's only a matter of time before it starts to peel. I'm not wanting that issue on my new car! Do any tint shops do this sort of method? I don't have a heat gun... If it is DIY, when do you do it? The same day? The next day? When did you do the repeat sessions? Is there a particular setting or anything on the heat gun to use? I wouldn't want to badly melt the tint... Thanks! When I had my issues with the Cavalier, I was told to look into getting a glossy black vinyl on the outside of the rear windshield to cover up the top section of tint. Has anyone tried that? That would still leave the dots on the side visible though...
