  1. $399 plus tax and fees. We don't live in a town big enought for traffic, but the weather radar does still work. BTW, she has had the car since May.
  2. In 2004, I purchased the lifetime membership. It has been great, I highly recommend it. My wife got a FFH and I added her with a lifetime membership. You can get the price of 6 month service taken off of the lifetime price. Someone (Ford via you) has already paid for the 6 months, so if you call right away, they will discount it. If you wait or let it expire, then you probably can't get it off.
  3. In 2003 I bought a "lifetime membership" for $400, I haven't paid since then. You really should look into that if you like sat radio.
  4. We traded my wife's S60R and have no complaints. The FFH is quieter and has many features that the Volvo didn't (sync, backup camera). The nav is a lot easier to use than her old car. Almost twice the gas milage around town doesn't hurt either.
  5. If the car is not at the dealer, go straight to the new car manager. Don't bother with a salesman. Know exactly what you want on the car. Have a realistic view on what you trade in is worth. Be prepared on exactly what you want to pay and what you want for your trade-in. If the new car manager wants you to work through a salesman, go to another dealer. I checked the websites for my cars trade-in value. I deducted that from MSRP for a price that I was comfortable with. I went to the dealer, told the new car manager exactly what I wanted and what I wanted to pay and that was the only deal that I would do; no counter offers. If he could do it fine, if not I would go to another dealer. If takes about 15-20 minutes. If you order a car or get it transferred from another dealer, you usually don't get the "undercoating, pinstripes, etc" fees attempt to add on to the price.
  6. You really should look at a lifetime membership to Sirius. I bought it in 2004 for $400. I haven't paid a dime since then. It has more than paid for itself. My wife just got a FFH and I am waiting for the Sirius info to update in their system to buy her a lifetime membership. With subscription fees going up every couple of years, it only makes sense.
  7. Replacing parts on a new car by the dealer does not make the car used. The dealer has no obligation to tell the customer that something has been repaired on a new car. It will be sold as a new car. Always take a good look at any car that you buy, even new cars. 20/20 or one of those type shows did a story about new cars with repairs. It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen.
  8. First, I was sitting in the parking lot of a store to figure it out. Second, the car doesn't allow you to give inputs for a lot of things when driving. With Sync, it is all voice activated, so you aren't pushing buttons, you are speaking out loud.
  9. It will be the door skin, probably not a whole new door. If that is the case, there will be paint work and any person in the auto industry will be able to see the paint work. If it were me, I would pass on that one and wait for a repair free car. $32K+ is too much money for that. Plus the dealer will sell it to someone else.
  10. I have half jacket Oakleys and they fit in the sunglass holder, just at an angle that doesn't look like it should work. This car is a lot more quiet than my wifes previous S60R, even with the sunroof cover open. POI in the Nav is difficult. However, we eventually got exactly what we were looking for. Too many items are "not allowed" when driving over a slow speed. I really like the Jukebox and USB line in options for music and pictures.
  11. We test drove 2 fully loaded Milans, neither of them had universal remote or memory seats, so it's not Ford vs Mercury, it's just sad. $33K sticker and basic options aren't even available on a car with Nav, leather, hybrid, sunroof, and backup camera?????
  12. If you are a lifetime member, you can transfer your radio 3 times. It costs $75 each time. You can research this on the Sirius homepage.
  13. After some in town driving and a long road trip I have some numbers on our car. On the interstate in N. Florida/S. Ga, at 75mph, we got a consistent 34.6 mpg. For long stretches at 60mph, the computer said that we were getting around 39.5 mpg. Driving around town for a couple of days with 4 adults in the car, we got 41.2 mpg. The manual says that gas mileage should improve as time goes on, so we will see. It also advises using mileage over 4 tanks of gas to get an accurate mpg figure.
  14. We just picked up our car. It has the remote start. Pushing the remote start will start your accessories and it may or may not start the car engine. During our "walkaround" of the car with the dealer, the car was "running" (air conditioner and radio) for about 4-5 minutes before the gas motor came on for less than 1 minute. I don't know how or if an after market system would work, but the factory system works good. It also can be disabled for valet parking.
