  1. Stupid question, but how does one reset the "Change Oil" message on the info display? The dealer changed the oil (with my consent) at about 9,000 miles, but at about 9,500 miles, I got the yellow / amber light telling me that I have to change the oil. I can press "Reset" and make it disappear, but it will re-appear the next time I start the car. Thanks!
  2. As others have figured out, this does not seem to work with the Nav systems (as I have). I tried this today (multiple variations, settings, etc.) and I don't think the double press works at all. Any ideas how to get the double-press working on the 2010 Nav system units?
  3. Let's say you are listening to a song via the USB (playing from your iPod). The song is not finished, but you want to listen to a different song. According to the (speedier) instructions below, you must always start the sequence by saying "USB" and then follow on the track, artist, or album. Is there any way for Sync to automatically know that you want to remain in the "USB" input? For example, if I'm listening to Brown Eyed Girl, is there any way for me to hit the voice button and say "Play track Tom Sawyer" (and then hear the famous Rush intro)? Thanks, Will
  4. Ordered 502A package on March 10. Got VIN in late March / early April. Car arrived at dealership in Michigan on May 8.
  5. Thought I'd share my first long drive experience as well... Drove w/1 one passenger about 240 miles from Detroit to Toronto, spent 1-2 days navigating downtown Toronto w/2 passengers using the onboard Nav, and then back to Detroit.....Did it all on a single tank of gas! I averaged about 36-38 mpg on the highway (70 mph) and 45-50 mpg in the city. Ran the A/C probably 50% of the time. Truck was full of baggage, but nothing excessively heavy. Some comments: 1) On the highway, driving behind a large 18-wheeler truck really did break the wind for me and allowed me to boost my mpg a few during select segments of the trip. 2) On both the Canadian freeways and the downtown Toronto streets, the Nav system did a great job. My only gripe is that when you intentionally take a different route, it keeps trying to get you to take a U-turn & such to get you back on the original route. Our Navigon 2100 max unit does a quicker job of recalculating the new route and taking over on-the-fly. With the Ford system, we found it better to just cancel the route and then start again with the same destination. 3) Very quiet in the cabin when driving on the highway. In the city, the car was so quiet that people often couldn't even hear me coming (got a lot of people inquiring about the car and how it could be so quiet). 4) Travel Link was useful for us (find restaurants, POIs, etc.) and also alerted us to construction well in advance. 5) Sony sound system is best-in-class. I challenge anyone to find a better sounding factory-installed system.
  6. When I ordered by 2010 FFH, I added the remote start option. My dealer noted that in the past, this was always a dealer-installed option, but that with the 2010 models, it was (to his surprise) a factory installed option. Since my car has not yet arrived, just wondering if any current owners of any 2010 Fusion paid for this option and how "integrated" it is into the vehicle (vs. some system you'd get from Best Buy). Specifically, I'm thinking about starting the car when it's sitting in sweltering sunlight 5 min. before I leave work just to get the air going through the car. I know this is not "green" behavior, but otherwise I sweat like a rock star and smell even worse after my 25 min. ride home.
  7. Since 2010 models (w/Nav system, etc.) have a 10GB hard disk for storing music, photos, etc., which is painfully small for my media collection, does anyone know if the hard disk can easily be replaced with a 500 GB or 1 TB drive? Are there any programs or software already installed on the 10 GB drive? Thanks!
  8. Okay, got an update last week: Ordered from dealer Mar. 10 Dealer received acknowledgment from Ford around Mar. 15 VIN number assigned around Mar. 30 Built around Apr. 16 Should be here in Michigan by May 5th or so.
  9. Thanks for the VIN lookup link. My car is definitely there, but other than the sequence number (the last 6 digits), there is not really any info that tells me when I can expect the car to be built. I will call my dealer on Friday. Does anyone else have a VIN number with the last 6 digits in the 133800 range? If yes, when is your car scheduled to be built?
  10. My VIN ends in 33874. Does this mean that I am 7,000 units after yours? When did you order yours?
  11. I ordered my FFH on 3/10. Last Friday (Apr. 3), the dealer told me they had the VIN for the vehicle, but no schedule date. Can someone familiar with the process explain what's next? (my dealer just gives me generic answers like "We'll keep you posted when we hear something."). Maybe I am being impatient, but since I'm currently leasing a car month-to-month, I'd appreciate knowing if I'll be doing this for weeks or months.
  12. Congratulations on your purchase. Please share pictures & thoughts when you get the car. I have a feeling that this board thread will start to explode in a few months when we are all (hopefully) driving our Fusion Hybrids. As an aside, I am from Detroit and (surprise!) work in the auto industry (not Ford, but a supplier to other OEMs). I sense there is a need to show others around the US that Detroit is not dead by any means, and that despite some poor management decisions and a serious operating cash crisis, the future of Ford and GM (and portions of Chrysler) is actually pretty good considering how much innovative product is in the pipeline. Being with a Tier 1 supplier, I have seen the Ford & GM models being developed that will come out in 2010 and 2011, and they are nothing short of brilliant. Detroit's problem is largely a perception problem, but hopefully cars like the Fusion (Hybrid and base models) will begin to change that perception.
  13. Anyone know what the monthly production build will be for the Fusion/Milan Hybrid? My order # is around 8000, so if (FOR EXAMPLE) they made 2000 units/month beginning Apr. 1, then could I expect mine to be built in the 4th month (i.e. July)?
  14. For the past few weeks, I have quizzed many metro Detroit area Ford dealers about accepting X-plan for the 2010 Fusion Hybrid. I finally found one dealer last week that would accept X-Plan, so I pulled the trigger. Saved me about $2200 over the MSRP. All the other dealers would only sell it at MSRP. And now the wait begins....
