Ford Fusion Wiring Harness Help

Anyone? -
That is great that Sync works with it. I would love to do that myself since the Navi unit I am sure is such a better Sync experience than just the plain stereo unit. I was actually thinking about replacing my current unit with the Pioneer F90BT. However, then I would my steering wheel controls and that unit only works with Ipods for voice control. Hopefully some aftermarket car stereo manufactures (like Alpine) make some good stereos with Sync technology when Fords agreement with Microsoft expires in 2009.

Hello everyone! I currently own a 2008 Ford Fusion with the Microsoft Sync system. I love the car and love the Sync system, but I just want a little more power in the system. So I am thinking of adding an amplifier to power a sub and rear deck speakers (I have the 6 speaker premium stereo right now).I know I will have to use a line output converter to run RCAs to an amp if I do this, which will require me tapping into the original factory harness. However, I don't want to cut into the original harness and instead cut into an aftermarket harness and this is where I am kind of confused. I went ahead and purchased both a female harness (http://cgi.ebay.com/Car-Radio-Stereo-Install-wires-Ford-Fusion-06-2006_W0QQite mZ200235732421QQcmdZViewItem?IMSfp=TL0807011384r10524) and male harness (http://www.audiooutfitter.com/71-5520/metra/p642042.html)to plug back into the factory radio so I could avoid cutting into the original factory harness and just splice into those wires. Here is a link to that shows what the colors on the original Ford factory harness represent http://www.fordfusionforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1206. I tried finding a Ford OEM harness, but was not able to locate one. I was just going to just solder all 20 or so wires together and then just reconnect it to the radio. However, if I were to solder all the wires together and then reconnect it to the factory radio, would that cause any problems for the stereo? Should I just solder certain wires like all the speakers and the 12Volt and accessory and so on? Also, will my steering wheel controls work like they did before? I just don’t know what to do. I was hoping the harness would be the same color code as the Fusion's, but it is EIA color coded. I don't want to mess anything up and I want to get this harness situation squared away before doing anything else. I hope someone here could help me out :) Thank you!

Hello everyone!!! I am looking into possibly adding an amplifier to my car for rear deck speakers and an subs. I know to run the amp wire through the door sill on the driver side of the car, but how do I get the wire through the firewall? I have seen on other posts about drilling a hole through a grommet (I have a v6 Fusion). Should I do that or is it possible to just follow some current wires and route the amp wire with them. I am looking at using a 4 gauge wire. Also, would it be easiest to remove the battery to maybe make it easier to find where the wires go through the firewall? Thank you :D
