  1. I checked in the operator's manual and fuse 28 is for abs, traction control and heated seats. My car does not have traction control or heated seats so pulling the fuse did just what i wanted it to. When I slam on the brakes on snow all 4 wheels lock up like I'm used to.
  2. I have an 06 Fusion, and I live in the snow belt (Canada) and I learned how to drive in cars without ABS. I want to disable the ABS system in my car by pulling the fuse. Is this a bad idea? Will my brakes still function like they should, and by that I mean lock up. Or will it create excessive pressure in the brake lines?
  3. I recommend the Ventshade Co (part #194550) in channel rain guards because they look allot better then the ones that stick on the outside of the car. I picked up a set for about $70.00 plus tax and I have had them on for almost a year without any window interference problems. I know you have to leave the windows rolled up for a day but it's not a big deal.
  4. I have thought of using the foam blocks already, and I’m sure they would work just fine. Putting the canoe on the roof is not a big deal, my main concern is tying it down securely. That’s why I was thinking of getting a roof rack so it would give me something to tie the canoe to. I wanted input on anchor points for on the car itself for the tie straps. I have an 06 fusion, if any one has ideas I would love to hear them.
  5. Has anyone ever put a canoe on a fusion yet? I'm going on a canoe trip this fall and I have the only car that won't break down on us. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to tie the canoe to the car because the bumpers are plastic and I Don't want to wreck them. I'm thinking about getting a roof rack for my car but i'm not sure if it will fit good enough to tie the canoe to and still be safe. It's a 16ft fiberglass canoe if it matters.
  6. I got my bumper from my local auto parts store. The company that makes it is called Cross Canada you can look it up at http://www.crosscanadaparts.com/. I got my bumper for $200 plus tax. It only took me a little over an hour to get the new bumper installed.
  7. Thanks for the detailed instructions and the video. I know it's a BUMPER it was a bummer when I cracked it though. It's a type o. How do you mount the front licence plate bracket? I live in Ontario where it's law to have a front plate.
  8. Back in the winter I hit a snowbank and cracked the bottom of the front bumber cover. I'm getting an aftermarket bumper cover from cross canada autobody and I was wondering if anyone has replaced there bumper before. Is it a big job? How long should it take? Can it be done in my driveway with simple hand tools? Thanks.
