Greetings,
I have a 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE w/ 2.0L engine.
On 3/9, While driving (25mph), the vehicle started to surge as if someone were pushing on the break. When I parked and read the codes, the ECU issued the following: U0121, U0155, U0164, U0212, U101E, and U101F. I was able to reset it by turning the car off and clearing the codes.
A week later (3/16) while parked with the vehicle running, the dash display was erratic and the SYNC3 system stated "911 Emergency Calling is not available.". I was able to pull and reset the following codes: P062C, U0103, U019E, U2012, U101E, U0401, U0151, and U101F. I could not get the car to re-start and had it towed to the Ford dealership.
The mechanic found nothing wrong with the vehicle. I then remembered it had rained the day before each occurrence. The mechanic ran a hose over the car, pressure washed the car, and ran it through the car wash...he could not get the vehicle to repeat any errors after a week of trying.
I got the vehicle back on 4/5. On 4/7 while driving on the freeway it started surging, the dash stated the engine was overheated (via the gage) and I pulled over. I pulled the following codes: U0103, U0121, U0401, U0151, U0256, U0140, U0155, U0164, U016a, and U0212. The car would not restart and the Sync3 screen stated "Vehicle Network Communication Error". The tow-truck driver could not get the E-Brake to disengage and had to drag it onto the flatbed. It did not rain for a week.
The next morning the mechanic said the car ran fine!!
Any suggestions on where to start looking? I'm thinking it could be a grounding issue or a wire on the CAN-Bus, but have no idea where to start. I saw a post from GrySql saying -13/-14 FFH's will throw several U codes if the wiring harness going to the instrument cluster is chaffed, but mine looks fine. I asked the mechanic to continue driving it but he was reluctant - I can understand why.
All the best,
Snuffy
PS In FEB I got the U0121 ABS code and the mech replaced the battery - seemed to solve the issue unless that was the start of the above problems.
