DS Seat Heater 2019 FFH Titanium broken
Mark JM replied to timothyf's topic in Interior Trim, Seats, Seat Belts & Covers
I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid, the driver side seat heater completely stopped working. Switch would turn on then go off quickly. Too much work and time involved in replacing just the heating elements at least on the 2010. I ended up buying an identical seat out of a wreck for 150 bucks. -
I think Helm Inc still makes them. I bought a complete service cd for the 2010 gas and hybrid models, I have one of each model. Included all the wiring and computer diagnostics. l did a quick search, looks like they still offer something. Prices are high. I still have their complete paper service manuals for 3 Fords I owned going back to the 80's and 90's. Can't bring myself to get rid of them.

Maybe something broke behind the door. They are known for the interior handle grab snapping off, I've replaced both of mine. You can find the handle on the web, not too expensive or go oem part. You can find videos on youtube showing how to do everything needed to remove and replace. need screwdriver, sockets and trim remover.

Car went in the Nov 1st for inspection and the program update. Everything went well, car is working and running well, as before. Also had them pull the bottom plastic engine shield, had a couple of rusted stuck bolts, and replace all the hardware securing it, just in case I need to fully remove it, usually just removing the oil filter cover piece is all I take off. Excellent work from the dealer.

I have two 2010 Fusions, gas and hybrid. The gas Fusion had a recall to check the abs module for proper operation, maybe something to do with DOT3 brake fluid possibly corroding the internals? I would have to check that paper again. Mine checked out, system was flushed and refilled with DOT4, new cap put on. I haven't received anything on the hybrid, yet. Maybe if you haven't done so, have the dealer test the operation of it. The connector, all I know is that orange signals high voltage. I'll look in my manuals see if i can come up with a name for that part. May take a bit, maybe others know what that part is called.

AC not working. Where do i start on a hybrid compressor?

i replaced my evap temp sensor on my 2010 gas Fusion. Took about six hours with the help of a youtube video. So far my 2010 Hybrid is working fine. You can check temps using the forscan program, that's how i diagnosed mine. Check ambient temps in the early morning before everything heats up. Most evap sensors outright fail, maybe throw a code, mine was reading about 15 - 20 degrees low. Ex. ambient 70, evap 55. This seriously cut the cooling down. At the time, dealer wanted between 800 and 900 hundred dollars to do the job. Oem sensor cost me about 50 bucks. Involves pulling the dash back. A lot of unplugging of wires and such. Check the video. -
Do a search for Ford customer satisfaction program 21B09 3g to 4g upgrade kit. See if your car qualifies, looks like a couple of different options available.

I looked around through my service cd at the pced symptom charts and also the intake air distribution system. I'm going to hazard a guess here and say that if the filter was overly obstructed, it would show up as a maf sensor error, there are a few different ones, and it would have to be diagnosed as to what is causing the error or errors. If you have no codes I would think that your air induction system is operating within factory specs.

Everything still going along beautifully. Been pretty cold here in upstate NY recently so mileage is suffering somewhat. Taking longer for that magical green light to kick on. l will look through my service manual and see if I can find further info about the air intake system.
