When I had the wrench light turn on under similar conditions, my auto mechanic said it was the water pump designated for the high-voltage battery was failing. He replaced the water pump, and I haven't seen the wrench light since--even on hot days when I would have seen the wrench symbol. This goes with the recommendation up in this thread to take the issue to a dealer or trained auto mechanic to fix it.
