Hi everybody, I just found this forum and find it fascinating. In June I purchased a 2017 FFH Platinum Energi (plug-in hybrid). It had just under 10k on the odometer, and I paid just over half of what the original purchaser did, so I feel I got an exceptional deal. The car has been very interesting to get used to, and there are lots of things that this old gearhead is still learning (this is a far cry from my 1990 Miata, 2000 Suburban, and 2002 E320 Mercedes). Since June, I've put 8K on the car (100 mile daily commute). I plug it in every night, and have been seeing just over 52 mpg so far. What is interesting, and I'd like to know if anybody else has seen this, is a 2 mpg improvement using 91 octane fuel over the 87 octane. I used regular for the first 4k miles or so, and was getting right around 50 mpg (49.8 - 50.2). With no difference in the weather or driving habits, it is now 52.0 - 52.9. I understand how this is possible, just wondering if anybody else has tried or seen this. I've yet to do a cost / benefit analysis on this to see if it's worth it. I've yet to use some of the features that I know about, and I suspect there are still a few things that I'm unaware of, but the car has been flawless so far. I love the adaptive cruise control, and use it constantly. In fact, the most active part of my drive is using the + and - button on the cruise to meet the various speed limits on the commute. I've used the lane minder a few times, but for the most part haven't found where it's particularly helpful. I've yet to try the parking assist. Anyway, glad to be here, and hope to talk to many of you as I read about these cars, and experience mine. Jeff Carson City, NV
