  1. I reset my battery age to 1 (not 0) in August of 2019, so I'm at 16 months now and EV mode still works fine. My average is down to around 37 mpg, but I'm think that's mostly because it's cold outside.
  2. Mplsguy, scroll back, the fix is detailed. Your on board computer restricted use of your hybrid battery once it hit 10 years old. If you reset the age of the battery to one year, it will run like new.
  3. Sounds exactly like what mine does, and I haven't changed the battery age. Do you still have the acceleration lag?
  4. Matthew, where do you live? I'm in VA and mine works better when it's hot outside (over 75°). If it's cooler out, you might be having problems with your HVB or possibly thermostat. I'm inclined to think it's not the same issue as with 2010s since yours isn't over 10 years old. Your car has super low miles, did it sit unused for a long time? That could have degraded the HVB.
  5. Matthew, check the manufacture date. Most of us started having problems when our 2010s hit 10 years out of the factory. It does sound like the same problem, but might be something else if your car isn't 10 years old.
  6. Shoot, that's a little disappointing. Mine does pretty much the same thing without the fix. The only difference is that I can't maintain speed in EV unless I'm going downhill. Maybe I'm missing something because when I bought it a few months ago it was already having problems. I had hoped the fix would allow me to drive in bumper to bumper, stop and go traffic in EV.
  7. Are you able to accelerate in EV, or just coast?
  8. Thanks Rodney. It seems like mine is performing almost normally when it's hot outside. I can't accelerate or even maintain speed in EV on level ground, but at least I'm getting decent mileage overall. When it's cold out, totally different story. No EV other than at a full stop, and only that after the engine has run for 10 minutes or more.
  9. Great news Rodney! So, here's my question for anybody. I just bought my 2010 FFH a few months ago and had problems with EV right away. Now that it's warm out, I'm getting about 35 mpg, mostly city driving. EV comes on most anytime I let off the accelerator, and will maintain some speed, but won't accelerate in EV at any speed, no matter how gentle I am on the pedal. Is that how it's supposed to work, or should I be able to gently accelerate in EV up to 47 mph?
  10. Paul, this makes perfect sense to me. It always seemed to me like a computer issue. I sent this to my dealer, waiting to hear what he says.
  11. From everyone who owns a 2010 FFH: The High Voltage Battery lasts exactly ten years from the day it came off the assembly line, then craps out.
  12. Fun4U that sucks. Maybe the EV problem is related to an aging ABS valve and your mechanic will Forrest Gump his way into fixing it.
  13. My Fusion did it automatically once right after I got it back from the airbag recall, and the dealer claims they did it twice, but it still doesn't run in EV.
  14. Jake, mine is doing the exact same things. One day last week it was warm out, I got it to coast in EV and if I was really, really gentle on the accelerator I could get it to move forward under electric power.
  15. Jake, did you just have the airbag recall done? Seems like most people I've seen having this problem just got their Fusions back from the dealer (myself included.)
