  1. So how did this story end finally? Dealer bought back the car? What are you driving now?
  2. I'm sorry but that story is REALLY, REALLY funny. Can't stop laughing on that one! LOL!
  3. os1962: How many miles are on your vehicle? Have you tried to trade the vehicle in at your dealer, perhaps for a non-hybrid? What is your MPG with this thing, even with the troubles you are having? Is the dealer paying for fuel on these test drives? Have you done a braking test, that is a hard braking from let's say 70-0. Does the vehicle stop well and hard? How about an all out aggressive 0-70? How is the power and speed build up? I really curious to know this, because if you get good results all around and the display is not accurate you still have a good car but with inaccurate reporting on the display. I wonder if the vehicle was actually traded in, would Ford take possession of it, or would the dealer just re-sell it, or would they resist a trade in all together...
  4. Just curious, what are the oven stones for? Are they there to retain heat and allow for more even cooking?
  5. The computers need to be replaced in this car. If I were the dealer and saw this video, I would swap out the computers, boards, memory, reload OS, etc. It's a time consuming mess. With new technology, these things are bound to happen, that is just the nature of the beast. I build computers as part of my job and I see glitches happen, esp on the higher end, newer stuff. Best off is to have this car shipped to the lab in Michigan for diagnostics.
  6. I believe if you are a Costco member you are eligible for a discount on a number of makes. Your best bet in obtaining an X-Plan pin is towards the last days at the end of the year. Yes, I know that is a long way off and you may want to purchase now. You can purchase a new car pricing report from Consumer Reports for $14. The report will list "true dealer cost" as well as any dealer "hold backs" and any cash back or bonus cash in effect. The report can help you in the negotiation process. It seems that (based on my perusing the Blue Oval forum) Ford employees may be more inclined to give any extra (they get six) left over pins to potential purchasers of Fusion/Milan/MKZ models. The reason being, in my opinion, is that it is beneficial for Ford to beat the Camry/Accord duo in sales as this will benefit the corporation as a whole. However defeating the Camry as far as this year is concerned should not be particularly difficult for Ford being that Toyota is having their "unintended acceleration" issues now. If you do get an X-Plan pin sponsor they will ask you for your full name and address as well as model of vehicle and last four social.
  7. If you are looking to obtain an X-Pin, you need to post a request on the Blue Oval Forums, google X-Plan Pin Blue Oval. The Hybrids are over 30 grand, I don't see how you can get one for 22k. 8. I believe the drivers seat is mounted closer to the floor in the 2010's. I'm around 5"11 and with a baseball cap the tip of the hat touches the roof, this is an a non-sun roof 2007. Now in a 2010 with sunroof there seems to be another two inches of space up top.
  9. How much were you asking for your 17" wheels and tires?
