Have been very satisfied except for a short in the main computer that fried everything the first time I drove it! Mechanic assured me he fixed the frayed main power cable. Living in Newfoundland, my MPG experiences are different. Very hilly in-city driving (city is built on a 700' height differential). Same sea level to 800' terrain on highways as they all descend into each coastal town the reascend over the plateaus. In summer I get low 40s. Winter driving is much lower in the low 30s and in much snow--common here Jan-Mar--slightly less. That said, my previous V6 Fusion got low 30s in the summer and well under 20 in the winter. The car is a joy to drive. One change for me: In icy snow hill climbing you MUST downshift to L or the transmission and traction controls simply will not deliver sufficient power to the drive wheels.

I am totally satisfied with my own car, but I'm wondering what may be going on here? She couldn't have forgotten to change the oil, could she? Or, use the wrong rated oil? That said, while much of my driving is short commutes, I do 100 km road trips quite routinely.

Re. 2 I live with very twisty, very hilly 2 lane roads with very short available passing spaces. I find the acceleration in the 70kph to 100 kph range extremely responsive. I have to pass quick and fast and I often hit nearly 150 kph just as I go by--especially if assisted by a hill. Performance buries the 4 cyl gas only Fusion and very much equals the 6 cyl gas models (I've owned the latter and tested/refused to buy the former on just these grounds). 70 kph = 43 mph 100 kph = 62 mph 150 kph = 93 mph

Happened to me over a 2 day period. Never while at dealer. Dealer told me next time to come in, leave the car running, and tell the techs! Of course since then it has never occurred. -

I had a Sirius Starmate 8 system installed that my son got free with his subscription. After some discussion, the installers put the antenna at the base of the rear windshield. Works fine on the road. Not so good under all the overhead wires in town, but then I didn't get Sirius for town driving.

There is a Ford system that my sticker says was $200 or $300 (forget which). It adds another 1' square fob.

Yeah...my old Ford Fusion V6 would skyrocket in the winter too...like up to 12.8 liters per 100 km (US 19mpg) given shorter trips and the cold. In my new 2015 FFH. I'm still getting 7 liters/100 km ( US 34mpg) even though a lot of my trips this time of year are, as I said earlier, short and the engine barely has time to get efficient. Went out to the shooting range 55km out of town yesterday in the lo 20sF and got 6.3 l/100km (US 37mpg) going out and 5.1 l/100km coming back (US 46mpg). The range is up on the plateau about 300 meters up in altitude from my house and the long, slow climbout/descent really does make a difference. -

Ford replaced 2 main circuit breakers and said they identified the cause (though I was never able to talk to the mechanic). Nearly 1K later including highway driving, no problems. Fingers crossed. -

Was driving down the highway--intending incidentally to take a round trip to a pretty remote fishing village 150km off the main highway--and my new 2015 FFH (S) w/ 2500km on it just died. Dead. Key did nothing, no lights unless I opened door and the blue panel lights would come on till I tried key and all would go black again. No windows, heater, blowers, etc. Put the car in park when I pulled over and after doing that P would not release. Security flashers worked and locks worked. Dead. But battery fine as best I can tell as jumping from my powerbox did nothng. Got a tow and left it at dealer for the morning, but WHAT happened? Felt like nothing so much as a fuse blowing/safety breaker tripping, but I was driving at 104 kph and not pushing anything at all. Can I trust my car? It gets very remote in Newfoundland. Thank God this happened on the main highway only 30 km out of town. Ford Roadside Assistance was fast getting me a tow, I will say that.

I see you live in Minnie. St. John's, where I live, is somewhat like Duluth where I went to hs and UMD except that to do anything at all you have to go between sea level and a 2-300 meter plateau all the time. There is no equivalent of Superior Street/London Drive/Highway 61. Everything is up and down the hill. That will affect your gas mileage. If the Tex part is Texas, I went to TCU for grad school and still make it to at least 1 game/year. This year it was Minnie as my brother is a Gopher and so I went to tha game.

Yeah...my gas use so far of 6.2l per 100km is almost precisely half the AWD V6 Fusion for cold season driving. We'll see about summer in July. which is when it comes here :-(.

Normally, cars are expensive here for a number of reasons including the fact we are on the far side of a remote island and there are only 1-2 dealers per brand. There are 2 Ford dealerships. A recent sales event was so shockingly good by our standards that I traded in my 2012 Focus Hatch SEL for a 2015 FFH S. On the road $23K Cdn($17K USD )including 13% tax, dealer prep, and with 4 additional, mounted winter tires. The car was a demo w/ 1800km (1200 miles) on it. That's a good deal here. Newfoundland is hard on cars. Long, cold, high snow winters, much salt on roads and in the air, much rain rest of year, steep hills. I park on the side of a steep, much traveled street 80 meters (240 ft) above downtown 8 blocks away which doesn't help either. Anyway gas mileage so far is about 30-40% less than Focus in a much roomier and much better appointed car. MUCH better driving experience than the shorter wheel base, higher centre of gravity Focus hatch. I did own a 2007 V6 AWD Fusion and truly loved it as a driving car, but especially in winter it got very expensive to feed at about 12.5 l/100km (18mpg) given our gas prices which have varied from $1/liter to over $1.50/liter over the past 5 years ($3-$4.50/gal USD). While I am not sure Newfoundland is prime territory for a hybrid, so far, in subfreezing weather down to lo 20s F, I am getting an overall 6.2 l/100km (38mpg). As most every drive involves a 2-300 meter climbout to get on top of the plateau (depending if I am shopping or whether I am going all the way out of town to the range or to do work on my boat), or a steep 80 meter climb if I go downtown, I am not at all displeased with that figure. Of course if I go to my boat, that involves another 300 meter climb out of that harbour. Drive is not the equal of a gas Fusion, but not at all that far away. The old AWD Fusion was perhaps the most drivable car I've ever owned. That said, I have not tried it in true snow conditions yet, just light snow. I have settled on 100kph (62mph) on the road--the posted speed limit--rather than the never-ticketed 110kph (68 mph) I used to do as 100 seems to hit a sweeter spot. Looking good so far!

I had the old V6 AWD Fusion back in 2007. It got about 9.5 l/100km (25mpg) in my driving in very hilly Newfoundland in the summer (70s temps), but dropped to 12.5 l/100km (19mpg) or worse in our very harsh, long winters which range in the 0-32F area mostly but lots of snow, slush, and general muck as. Recently bought a demo FFH(S) with 1800km (1200mi) on it. Weather has turned cold--sub 32F--but I am getting 6.2 l/100km (38mpg) so far. One long 90kph (56mph), nicely rolling country, back road drive that did not involve the long 300 meter climb out of town like most drives do I got 4.9 l/100 km (48mpg). I am pretty satisfied already with the gas consumption as gas is $1.05/liter ($3.20/gallonUSD) here now and often higher. Anyway, that's my cold weather experience so far.
