  1. NC lemon laws say they have four times or more to try to fix the same problem, so after this they get one more shot if the light comes back on. Your used 2013 with 90000 miles covered under a lemon law? I really doubt it, as most lemon laws are only for new vehicles. There may be some states that take it a step further, but I doubt if any cover that many miles. If you are relying on a lemon law to help you, make sure your state actually has one that covers your vehicle year and miles. Here is a link to a NC Lemon Law attorney who says there is NO lemon law for used cars. The only remedy in some cases is IF the car is still under original factory warranty. He says the federal law known as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act applies to used vehicles that are still under the original manufacturer warranty. NOT sure if that means bumper to bumper warranty, powertrain warranty, or unique hybrid component warranty. Might want to contact him or someone just to see if you may have a case. 2. If there was a different maintenance service, it would be listed under "Severe Duty". It would include heavy towing, excessive idling such as police or taxi, extreme temperatures, etc. I haven't looked for such differences but I don't know if transmission fluid, coolant fluid, fuel injection services, etc would even be listed. Perhaps the transmission fluid change would be. Fuel injection services is just a dealer "profit" device, unless you are really having trouble with poor fuel milage, rough running or idling, etc. As for voiding any warranty claims if the extra services are not done, I highly doubt that. A genuine Ford ESP has no such provision to void as long as the services required (as listed in the owner's manual) are done. When it comes to an aftermarket or 3rd party warranty, I guess you would have to read the warranty and find out.
  3. Ever since the last update by Apple, many owner's are complaining about the Siri not working correctly. A Ford service rep on the C-Max board has posted she is aware of the concerns and the tech team is looking into it. It is the latest Apple update that caused the bug as far as who is being affected.
  4. Might be under the factory 36/36 warranty if you are still under that on your 2014 model.
  5. If you do purchase the Honda extended warranty, make sure you check out some of the on line dealers who sell the warranty in volume. It is the Honda factory warranty being sold, and there are several that I have seen mentioned on a Honda forum I am following. I have not used any of the ones listed, but am just passing along the information pasted form the Pilot forum. Pasted and copied below Curry Honda, Hyannis Honda and Saccucci Honda. They don't make much of the warranty but apparently if they sell in volumes, there are financial benefits in doing so. I asked for quotes from all 3 and bought from Saccucci Honda. Hyannis Honda was cheaper but went into my junk mail folder. I was pleased with Saccucci Honda's service and everything went smooth. I have purchased Ford and GM warranties on line and have saved a lot of money compared to what dealers in my area wanted. I have also saved tax when I have purchased from out of state dealers. Never any problems with the warranty (I have ALWAYS purchased only the factory backed ones, never any after market ones.)
  6. Didn't see or find an "item 7" in the link you posted. Perhaps you can cut and paste what it says?
  7. Welcome! You can enter your VIN at the FordEtis site in order to see what features your car was built with. The information should be pretty much correct, but keep in mind this is the Etis (European Technical Information System) and a few inaccurate items may be found. A lot of information can be seen for your particular car so have fun! http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do
  8. Just for fun, I tried to get the navigation to direct me to 'Tchoupitoulas St' using voice commands. I was halfway there before I gave up and Googled it with my phone. Tchoupitoulas = chop-a-tool-us. Not a fair test but now I know. It didn't do any better as a POI for 'Couchon' Restaurant, (koo-shawn). Are you familiar with the Ford Sync Services? Both my Ford Edge and Ford C-Max Energi came with the service which I registered for. The Edge had 3 years of free services, with 20 operator assisted calls per year. When I traded the Edge in on the C-Max, the remaining free calls rolled over to the C-Max. I have used the services for business searches, locating a POI when the factory navigation unit couldn't find it, and to have it send directions directly to the car while I was driving. It also includes traffic, weather, sports, and a few other things. After the 3 years of free service, I think on the Ford it costs around $60.00 per year. Much better than On Star in my opinion, and a lot less expensive. I think On Star includes only a 6 month trial period?
  9. Nice write up and good pictures showing how to do the modification. Many LED's need to be installed a certain way since they have a positive and a negative. I even copied this from the link you posted as to where you bought the bulbs. Notice:All LED bulbs have to be plugged in a certain way,it has Positive and negative, so if they don't work at first, quickly take them out, turn them around 180 degree, and put them back in again. I read where you did try the bulbs before gluing the lens shut, but it is worth repeating again. Test the bulbs before gluing the lens back on. Might save you the trouble of having to cut the lens off again.
  10. You are correct. I just checked the paperwork for the Ford ESP on my 2013 Edge. Bought the warranty several months after buying the car. The warranty start date was the date I purchased the car, and the mileage warranty started at "0" miles. I gained a little on the time, but nothing on the miles. Sorry about posting some wrong information. :gaah:
  11. There are several Ford dealers on the INTERNET who sell the Ford ESP plan. I wouldn't buy any other after market plan no matter how much less it may cost. In the long run, the Ford ESP plan will always be there for you, unlike many after market plans. Check the web for the different dealers by searching for Ford ESP. Last one I bought was from Anderson and Koch because they had the best prices. I also saved on the tax because they were out of state so no sales tax. Buy the warranty now even though it overlaps your bumper to bumper and power train warranty. Unlike GM, the Ford ESP starts from the day the car was first put into service and with the miles that were on it at the time. You get an option for first day rental, which means you get a loaner the day you drop you car off for service. Otherwise, the standard rental with the ESP allows a rental the next day. You can also choose for enhanced rental, which allows more money towards the rental, hence a larger car or truck.
