  1. Grats ccalvinn. I have a 15FFH and my eye was wandering at other cars recently as well. That's on hold now as a new job and relocation may be happening and car negotiations are the last thing I need to be wasting time on. I have about 11 months and/or 12k miles left on the new car warranty though so I will wait. How much trade in value did you get? Last I checked online I think I was optimistically looking at 15k max. Good luck with the new car, I'm sure you enjoy all the new bells and whistles.
  2. 10MPG is a lot. All i can think of is air pressure in his tires may be lower. Even still that should only account for 2-3MPG max. Is there anything heavy in his trunk? :)
  3. Today was my 2 year anniversary with my 2015 FFH. I know because my salesman called (and also called on the 1 year anny,) It's done everything I imagined and I have had nearly zero issues in the almost 22000 miles I've driven it. The only significant issue I had was more of a design issue regarding the front underguard skirts coming loose after backing up from a parking stop. See my post with pictures for all the gory details and make sure you don't get too close to curbs when parking... The other issue I had I also posted about is the cruise control cancel steering wheel button being not as responsive but it doesn't seem as bad now as it was when I posted about it. I use eco cruise control as much as I can every time I drive. I hit cancel when I see a stop up ahead and let the car coast as much as possible to a stop. Rinse repeat every drive every day. It's got fairly low miles since I have about a 20 mile round trip work commute 5 days a week and about the farthest I drive it otherwise is from West Palm Beach to Orlando about three-four times a year to go to Disney.
  4. Ok, mystery solved! Driving home with my wife this morning she moved her seat all the way back and there was a small Haagen Dazs chocolate ice cream container under the seat. We thought the supermarket shorted it when we bought it weeks ago. Apparently it rolled under the passenger seat... It wasn't as big of a mess as it could have been though. Most of the contents were still in it since the white plastic liner on top prevented all but a small amount of the ice cream to come out. Weird day today. First the garage door opener bracket breaks off the door so that needs repairing. Then we finally find the source of the mysterious car smell. Then we come home and the cable box and cable modem are fried, probably from the afternoon thunderstorm. I'm writing this on my tethered phone to computer. Comcast appointment is in 10 days; thanks cable monopoly!
  5. Has anyone experienced a plastic musty smell in their FFH? I'm pretty sure it is not coming from the ventilation system since it is strongest when first getting in the car. I can't seem to locate the plastic giving off the smell if that is what is causing it.
  6. I noticed in the SiriusXM app (music streaming) today there is Ford Sync AppLink help topic (see screenshots). I have SYNC with MyFord Touch in my 2015 FFH so I'm not sure if I have AppLink or not. Probably not I'm guessing.
  7. http://arstechnica.com/cars/2016/05/battery-bump-for-bmw-i3-existing-owners-will-be-offered-upgrade-too/ I like the idea of being able to retrofit a car to add more battery capacity. The BMW i3 looks like a nice city car but I am glad to have a FFH. I'd rather drive a FFH for the ride, comfort, and looks. It's an exciting time to live and see how electric vehicles are evolving. I can only imagine the range and prices of EV's in 5 years or so!
  8. I have a 2015 FFH SE. Is there a setting to allow the rear camera to stay on driving forward? According to this part of the video and the comments (under user Civrock's reply) the driver says it is.
  9. Yeah! That looks like a great candidate. I just need a washer and screw for it and that should work. Saturday morning I know what I'll be doing. Thanks!
  10. Thanks murphy but I'm not sure that's what I need. What I think I need is a clip that is inserted into the plastic to allow a screw to fasten to it. I attached a picture. On the left is an existing clip/screw and on the right is one of the two holes I need connectors for. The connector you linked might work but would probably pop out easy I think.
  11. Thanks for all the comments. I found one plastic push in screw but not sure where it goes. I'd like to find some clips and screws for the 2 spots I know need them. I'm hesitant to take this to the dealer and get gouged but maybe I will mention it when I go in for my first oil change if I don't come up with something to replace the fasteners. Only 5600 or so miles on my car so far and I'm planning to take it in at 7500. I could take the warranty angle at the dealer but doubt it would work. "Yeah, those screws must have fallen out!" :)
  12. This happened today at lunch. When I parked I pulled onto the parking bumper and heard it bottom out so I pulled back off of it. It didn't sound good but I've done this before so didn't think much of it. After lunch I drove back to work and parked and noticed it hanging loose there. If you look at the pictures it has 3 clips which the screw fastens into. I lost all but the one screw and clip. Luckily with how the plastic teeth connect into the underside along with the one screw/clip it seems to be fastened well enough. As long as I don't pull back over a parking bumper again. I'm planning to go back to the original parking lot tomorrow to see if I can find any screws and clips so I can fasten it correctly. Anyway, this is a post to warn others about possibly doing the same and I hope it helps avoid similar issues.
  13. The grand prize on Family Feud the other night was a red FFH :)
  14. I'm in IT also and had my FFH about a month and a half now. I am still learning new things. Just today as I was coming back from Costco my wife said the passenger side mirror was messed up. I looked over and sure enough it was almost flat against the side window. I never even knew they were the adjustable type that did that! I wondered a while ago why they didn't collapse because I didn't see how they could at the time.
  15. Welcome! I got to use my HOV sticker the first time yesterday and got illegally passed by some wacko on the shoulder. He actually drove over those indented asphalt "wake up" bumps on the shoulder to pass me. I was just amazed and shook my head at the stupidity and recklessness.
