  1. I purchased a new iPhone and noticed after syncing with the MyFord Touch, contacts now show the pictures. Maybe it has to do with iOS 11 but it used to not move those over. When someone calls or when I go into the phone book, I can see the picture. If I get a text, it doesn't show the picture which is weird. Anyone else notice that contact pictures for iPhone's are now kind of working with MyFord Touch?

  2.

I do not pay for Sirius and my car has always had the traffic info on the maps. As quoted above In vehicles with optional SD Card Navigation system, 411 Business Search and Directions integrate with the navigation system. If Sync services isn't providing this info on my map and Sirius isn't providing this. Where is it coming from?

    EDIT:

OK, I went and took a closer look at my screen. It does say Sirius travel link. I get movies, gas prices etc. so I must be reading the integrate with the navigation system wrong for sync services, but again, I'm not paying for this service so not sure why I'm still getting this servie after the 6 month free trial.

I believe starting with 2015 vehicles, you get Sirius Travel link for 5 years too.

  3. Wrong. Sync Services does provide traffic data to the maps if you subscribe to it. From Ford Owner site:

SYNC® Services is a subscription service available to owners with SYNC with MyFord Touch® that puts 411 Business Search, turn-by-turn directions, news, traffic, weather, sports, and more within reach of your voice.27,129

    Personalize your SYNC Services

SYNC Services offers audible travel information on demand. If SYNC Services can't fulfill your request for directions or 411 Business Search, you'll have the option of using Operator Assist service.64

You can personalize SYNC Services by registering an account and setting up your favorites.

When you access SYNC Services, a phone call is placed to an automated system. Once connected, follow the prompts and speak your selections. You don’t need to press the Voice button every time before speaking (there are a few exceptions—see the section on SYNC Services voice commands in Exploring Information by voice.)

In vehicles with optional SD Card Navigation system, 411 Business Search and Directions integrate with the navigation system.

SYNC Service provides turn by turn directions if you don't have navigation. It does not provide the traffic data if you have navigation that the OP is talking about. That comes only from Sirius. You are wrong as you didn't read what you copied and pasted. "SYNC Services offers audible travel information on demand." Keyword is audible.

  4. So after some digging, I found out 3.10 was released sometime at the end of last year. SyncMyRide shows 3.8 is the latest which I believe everyone will see that as I believe updates need to be done through the dealer. I decided to give it a shot and after 30 minutes of installing, I had 3.10 loaded. Everything went smoothly and it moved over my navigation favorites and radio presets. I just needed to reconnect my phone. I have a 2014 HyTi which was running 3.8 before the install.

I found on the 2GFusions site a download to get the update. From my understanding, someone took the 3.10 files and put it in the 3.8 installer to get it working as at the end, it will say the 3.8 update completed. Rioachim provided the download which I am posting their link here if anyone is interested. As always, do at your own risk as this is not directly from Ford nor did I provide this install. Extract the .zip to a USB formatted FAT32.

    Version SYNC2 - V3.10 Install Source PTS

    ABOUT THE LATEST UPDATE

The new software update for SYNC® with MyFord Touch® systems includes all the improvements from previous updates, plus additional changes to accommodate new and updated customer devices, such as:

    • Hazard switch illuminates on Focus / Escape with ignition off and park lamps on
    • Next Track / Previous Track controls from SYNC touchscreen
    • SYNC Maintaining Repeat / Shuffle settings that were set on the device side
    • Compatibility updates for the latest phone and media devices

I played around with it and have not noticed any changes which is obvious from the change logs. I was hoping some bug fixes might have fixed the issue I have with activating Siri when listening to my iPod. If I send a text through Siri, it will not pause the song and once done, the right dashboard screen will be blank till you press mute for a second or skip to next song. This was not fixed. The Navigation option on the right dashboard is still buggy so to me it wasn't worth it but if you are having trouble with a new phone, then this might be for you.

  5. Reading 3.10 always makes me read 3.1 so I hate the numbering system they use. Anyway, I would love to update but the site shows 3.8 is the latest. Is this really going to be a dealer only thing? I am hoping it fixes the issue with activating Siri when listening to your iPod. The right display on the dash will become blank for the title and artist till you either mute it quickly or wait for the next song to come on to refresh. Siri will never pause what you are listening to which SYNC should.

Added a new thread so we don't post about 3.10 in the 3.8 one.

  6. Disconnecting the battery didn't fix anything which I had low hopes for anyway. I looked up some info about the BLIS system which states from their site:

    System limitations

The Blind Spot Information and Cross Traffic Alert systems do have their limitations. Conditions such as severe weather or debris buildup on the sensor areas may limit vehicle detection.

Other situations that may limit BLIS detection include:

    • Certain maneuvers of other vehicles as they enter and exit the blind zone.
    • Vehicles passing through the blind zone at very fast rates.
    • Several vehicles forming a convoy and passing through the blind zone.

I guess my situation would fall under the convoy of vehicles. Does anyone else have a similar experience and I am just looking too much into this? All I want the system to do is put the light on when anything is in the blind spot. Easy right?

  7.

    Any updates on this?

Maybe I am misunderstanding how the BLIS system works. The new module did fix the issue with the light staying on when no car is in my blind spot. I have a new problem which affects both sides now. When I am in traffic and my lane is finally moving, the BLIS system can end up missing a couple cars next to me that are driving slower. (I am going 10mph and they are around between barley moving and 5mph). I don't recall this being a problem on the working right side before the left was replaced.

When I am driving on the highway with no traffic and a car passes by, both sensors will pick it up so this seems to only be in traffic when everyone is going slow. I would really hate to bring it in again because I am starting to feel defeated. I was thinking of disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for a few minutes to see if that resets anything.

  8. Just giving an update that I renewed my Sirius plan. I always tried to get the promos on the chat option but after about 4 reps saying no, I decided to call to cancel. The phone call lasted 8 minutes and I was able to get Sirius Select for 6 months for 29.99 and continue the 50% off Traffic and Travelink for 18 bucks. Total was 52 something after the fees. I used to get 6 months for 24.99 but I had no luck in continuing that one.

  9. So I picked up my car on Friday the 3rd. I drove it around for the weekend and it seems like the issue has been fixed. This morning I am driving to work and I am noticing both sides missed some cars when I passed by them on either lane. Honestly I don't want to believe I still have an issue so I am going to monitor it a bit more.

There are some good notes on my work order about what was done and replaced. I will scan it in and post it when I have some time.

  10. So after months of complaining and getting nowhere (also pushing this issue aside), I finally reached out to Ford. I did one of those "Contact Us" which would have you fill out a few questions and send out an email which I received no response for 2 weeks. I then sent a message on Facebook and had a response within the hour. Someone then called me a couple days later and asked all the basics questions on what the issue is and when does it happen. I informed him that I have been through this route and even had a field service technician go to the dealership and drive the car 80 miles last year for them to come up with "can not replicate". He said he will get in touch with the dealership to get more information and get back to me.

The next day he emails me saying the dealership is well aware of my issue and the next step is to have a mechanic in my car to see the problem happen. I provided many videos of the BLIS system acting up but Ford will not take that as proof of an issue. So finally yesterday I went over to the dealership and drove the mechanic around. I was hesitant because as everyone knows, when you are ready to show a technician/mechanic a problem, it won't happen. I was lucky enough to have a few mild incidents of the BLIS system missing a couple cars and staying on 3-5 seconds longer than it should so he said there is something not right. I loved that he asked the service manager "What was the point of me in the car? Just to say I see it?".

During the car ride, I had a chat with him on how does the BLIS system actually work. I thought the 4 back sensors helped locate if the car is in a blind spot. He said those 4 sensors are only for Cross Traffic while in reverse. There are two modules behind the rear bumper to control each side. While i knew this info, I didn't actually know the modules had the sonar detection in them, I thought it was just a controller.

So they gave me a loaner and I just received a call that they placed an order with Ford for the replacement module and will program it when they get it in. Crossing fingers that this mess will finally be put to rest.

  11. The illuminated door sills are awesome but be very careful with the overhead center console since that is where you will plug them to. I had the dealer do it for me and they broke it so it was not sitting right. After a bunch of repairs, it ended up with them breaking something in the headliner and I needed that replaced. Cost the dealer 2000+ in repairs over a technician not properly doing the job. I am still debating if I regret not doing it myself. Surprisingly, they put the headliner in without any issues which I was worried. Oh and it's stainless steel so it will scuff up if your brush your shoes against it. Seeing them light up makes it all better though. :)

  12. A little over 2 years into owning the car now and began to have battery issues this weekend. I noticed Saturday during Christmas shopping, that the dashboard took 5 seconds to display when starting the car twice. I thought it was strange but didn't think it was anything serious. Sunday morning I go out to change the mats to all weather and I see MFT show the battery saving message. I go to start the car and nothing happens. Since it was Sunday, I could not go to any Ford service center since they were all closed. I had the car jumped from roadside assistance since I had to stop at one place for an hour. When going back to the car, it started but the dashboard took a long time and the chimes were harsh.

I went to an auto store and picked up one of those battery jumps knowing i'll have trouble the next morning. Good thing I did since the battery was dead this morning. I went right to the dealer before work. After waiting 2 hours, they said one of the cells went bad and replaced the battery under warranty. I noticed it is a MAX labeled battery so maybe it will be better.
