2020 Ford Escape Hybrid EPA MPG
My2cents replied to My2cents's topic in Lounge - Off Topic Discussion
I'm very impressed with my 2020 FE Titanium Hybrid. Both my wife and I find the ride and handling to be superior to my 2013 FE Titanium. My 2017 FFH was an excellent vehicle also, we didn't get rid of it because of any dissatisfaction....we just wanted an SUV.....so yes no regrets, we like the FE better. I'm at about 3,500 miles and my calculated MPGs are 45.1....better than I expected but we've not taken any long road trips yet..... I expect once we decide to cruise the interstates again the overall mileage will drop. I'm guessing cruising the interstate at 75 MPH will yield about 34-35 MPGs. Of course the best thing to do is go on an extended test drive and develop your own opinion....YMMV......and as Cobra pointed out he likes his sedans... for more opinions about the 2020 FE Hybrid go to this website fordescape.org -

I was impressed enough! Traded in my 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid for a 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid. Good bye and good luck. -

I agree....using the gas receipts to calculate mpg is the way to go (I keep a spreadsheet so I have an overall record). My overall mpg for my 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid is 45.3 mpg....this after almost 3 years and 44,000 miles. The combined EPA rating is 42 mpg. My overall mpg for my 2013 Ford Escape was 25.3....this after 7 years and 99,000 miles. The combined EPA rating is 24 mpg.... I’m thinking I could achieve low 40s mpg with an awd Escape Hybrid.....but remember YMMV... I recall reading the EPA fuel economy numbers are derived from the emission testing and not a direct measurement of mpg....here’s a link for those that want to know more about the EPA fuel economy testing: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml0 -
The 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid fuel economy numbers are available....heres the link https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=42258 Anyone impressed enough to at least be interested in a test drive? Opinions?

We spent the month of February in Florida. Left icy cold Michigan during the polar vortex (morning we left it was 13 below....got home and the temp was 18). Total miles driven = 2250....1850 miles getting there and back...mostly Interstate @posted speed limits (55-70 mph)...some state and county highways in Alabama going thru some small towns 25-55 mph) and about 400 miles locally (temps generally in the 60s) along the gulf coast in FL...total trip actual (total miles/ total gallons) = 42.0 MPG. What are you getting and what did you think you would get?

Disappointing MPG results
My2cents replied to Justblan1984's topic in 2017-Current Ford Fusion Hybrid
Exactly, by comparison my lifetime MPG is 45.5 (Total miles driven/total gals of fuel purchased). About 25% of my total miles driven (23,500 miles) are Interstate miles. The other 75% of the miles are country backroads and small town (I don’t live in a big city). I seldom exceed 65-70 MPH even on the Interstates. -
I’ved owned my FFH since Jan 2017. I had a problem with the auto closure of the front windows. The window would close then immediately go partially down and eventually the passenger side window quit working. This required a replacement of the passenger window control module and a reset/reprogram of the window control module. That’s the only problem I had and it’s been fixed. Great car.....lifetime 45 MPG

This doesn't make sense given my sequence of events. Your situation is obviously different than mine.

I also had a problem with the driver's side window "bounce back." In early April the dealer did the reset procedure. It worked for a short time then I (again) did the reset procedure. After a few more weeks the passenger side window then failed to open (at least the window was in the closed position). The dealer replaced the window motor/regulator assembly. Then the driver's side window "bounce back" reappeared again. Took the car to the dealer. This time the dealer "reprogrammed and updated the power window module per service bulletin 14b291." The windows now work correctly. Hopefully this fix will last for a while.

Went to the dealer this am. Talked about the problem and the reset. The service manager held the switch for 15 seconds (said 3 seconds wasn't long enough) and the windows now work correctly. His parting comment was the windows work for now but the problem may reappear, if it does bring the car back and we'll go from there.

4 year Ownership Reports - 2013 FFH
My2cents replied to B25Nut's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
Great reports! Hopefully I'll have this kind of success with my 1 month old FFH. BTW I have a 4 year old Ford Escape AWD Titanium with the 2.0L ecoboost. No problems so far with 68,000 miles. -

....after a lengthy research period, I decided to buy a 2017 FFH SE. The vehicle came equipped with the luxury and tech/sync 3 packages. I test drove several of the usual suspects (Camry, Accord, Sonata, Malibu and CMAX). We were impressed with all the vehicles (although my wife thought the CMAX was a step below the others in ride comfort). Bottom line: my wife and I simply liked the FFH better than the competition.
