Does the sticker include an extra $395 for paint? I still can't believe I paid extra for the paint on my Ruby Red. It was the only FFH that the dealer had in stock. Paint? An option? What next? Tires?

Why would that matter?

I seem to be constantly resetting my cruise control while on a long distance trip in my 2013 FFH. I am careful to not touch "cancel" when touching "resume". What am I doing wrong?

The "experts" on this forum repeatedly blame the driver or hilly conditions for not acheiving the posted EPA mileage figures on the FFH. They contend it is not the car because it is absolutely capable of getting Ford's stated 47 mpg. If that is true, why did Ford just recently lower the EPA figure to 42? It admitted it screwed up the test, and rather that go the Huyndai route and pay lawyers a lot of money, it is sending all of us a nice rebate check. They admitted that the car doesn't get 47 in the real world with normal driving. So . . . experts, maybe you were wrong, because Ford admitted it was the car. You. were. wrong. As you all celebrate your good fortune, thank the whiners who whined on the message board, who whined to Ford, and who whined to their dealer, because that caused Ford to redo the test, find their error, admit it to the EPA, and choose to send a rebate to everyone involved, even to those "experts' who thought there was nothing wrong with the car. On behalf of all the FFH whiners, we accept your apology.

It would be helpful for someone on this forum to list, very simply, the steps to correctly driving a Fusion Hybrid. Please eliminate any abbreviations, which are just confusing to those of us who are not engineers or with a tech background. Please be kind and helpful. The multiple gagues are very confusing to some of us and the dealer didn't bother with any hybrid driving tips when he sold the car to me. I have difficulty understanding some of your advice, but do want to learn. Thanks.

In USA Today June 2, during an article about the new Honda Accord Hybrid which discusses gas mileage claims by Honda which are realisticly 40 mpg and not the window sticker of 47, the article mentioned a class action lawsuit against Ford regarding similar practices concerning the Fusion hybrid. It also quotes Consumer Report which cautioned against exaggerated hybrid mileage claims by Ford and others. I have lowered my expectations to 40 mpg with ideal driving conditions for my 2013 FFH and accept that it will never get any better. I refuse to turn off the ac in summer or heater in winter and do not plan on drilling holes in the grill to install shutters. I will never get the mileage I got with my 2010 Prius, but I will accept 40 mpg as reality.

I have owned my ffh for 3 months now, have 3k miles on it, and returned it to the dealer for first oil change this week. They could find nothing wrong with the car which would affect mileage and no current updates for it. Temps are in the fifties now in Iowa. I practice all the suggested driving habits and never exceed 60 mph. I still get mpg in the mid or upper 30's. Yes, we use ethanol here. It is the only gasoline available. I like the car but am thinking I could have saved $3k or more and just bought a nonhybrid Fusion. Some disgruntled FFH owners on other chat lines are talking class action law suites. That happened against Hona Civic Hybrids a few years ago.

I am new here. I have purchased a 2013 Fusion Hybrid two months ago and now have about 2500 miles on it. I have owned two previous hybrids (Civic and Prius) and know how to drive for maximum mileage. I seldom drive over 65 mph and always accelerate gradually. I am not getting anything above 37 mpg on this car. It is cold here in northern Iowa, but was expecting something closer to the 47 mpg stated on the sticker. Is the problem me or the car? I like the car but am disappointed in the gas mileage.
