  2. Hi,

So aside of loving my fusion to bits I now have a small and somewhat aggravating issue.

When driving down the road i get sorta a road noise or oscelating rythmatic sound that appears to be coming from my back right tier/ wheel well. it is not like a grinding per se, but is definately noticeable expecially at speeds of 35-50mph anything above that there is enough road noise to sorta cover it up. Also to note that when I make a banking left turn the noise will disappear and then re-appear when i straighten back out.

I have checked and made sure all tires are fully filled. I have checked all tires for like a stock rock nail or screw that could be hitting the pavement as the tire rotates and making that sound. Personally I'm afraid its bearing related as i know those are quite costly.

Has anyone seen a similar issue or provide input?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi lsherlockl,

I'm thrilled to hear how much you love our Fusion! I recommend heading to your dealer to get the noise checked out. What's your mileage?

  3.

Im having this issue with my '13 Ford Fusion 2.0L EcoBoost... I put the seat down and the 60 of the 40/60 is stuck down, so I called ford and they said to leave it for a few days and they'd tell me how much it would cost to repair. I currently have about 70k, so he said it was out of warranty.

Thanks for reaching out. I want to check out some additional assistance. Please private message me your VIN, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location.

  4. I purchased a used 2013 Ford Fusion hybrid about 2 weeks ago and I'm not to sure on how the battery charging is. I'm not sure if this is normal but after I start my car my battery seems to be low. Therefore, I run on gas for a while until it charges back up.sometimes it can take a while. I live in a area with a lot of stop sign so I normally am on Ev. At night when I park my car the Ev seems to be charged up but in the morning when I start the car it is low and the engine turns on. I'm not sure if this is normal or a problem with the battery. Also when I remove my key my music play for about 20 seconds and it then tells me I need to save energy and it turn off. I'm not sure if that is normal either. I did purchase an extended warranty so taking it to the dealer won't be a problem, I just wanted to know if these things were normal.

    Welcome, LechesxD!

Have you spoken with your dealer about your concerns? Please let me know, along with your mileage.

  5. Car has over 113k on it, and now the stereo is starting to have some bugs, will switch itself from media to fm without being touched, then will refuse to go back to media until it is turned on and off. Occasionally the volume will creep up or down depending on which way the knob is turned until it's either off or unbearable.

Thanks! I recommend working with your dealer to have your concerns addressed.

  6. Has anyone replaced the head unit in a 13' and up Fusion yet? I swear I just looked through all the forums, and have seen where people have changed the speakers, but not a head unit.

Mine is just the plane jane model, and is beginning to act up on me.

    Hi ROB218,

Have you had a chance to visit your dealer to have this diagnosed? Please let me know, along with your mileage, and more details on your concern.

  7.

I have the same rattle, happens at higher speeds only (like 70MPH) and seems to come from the right rear door area. Did you ever get this diagnosed and fixed?

    Hi scn101,

Have you had a chance to visit your dealer to have the rattle checked out? Please let me know, along with your mileage.

  8. Well,

It is now Monday morning (12:09 A.M) and the car spent the weekend at the dealership. As of 07:55 this morning that will be 19 days at the dealership for this visit, 78 days total since February 19th.

I keep getting told they are working with the Technical Hot Line and the Engineer will be looking into the issue.

I think it is way past time for Ford to step up to the plate and admit that they can't determine what the problem is and as such how to fix it.

Nearly $49,000 out the door with options, dealer installs and extended warranty I don't have a car I can believe in.

Meagan, what does it take to get this fixed?

    Very Frustrated Owner

I'm reaching out to your CSM for a follow-up, and have updated your case notes. Please be advised that if you decide to go with Lemon Law, I will be unable to directly assist.

  9. ...Meagan: We do we go from here? How long should I expect to wait for the Ford Technical Hotline to keep trying things before the local Field Engineer is dispatched?

Now standing at 15 days in the shop so far for this visit and 74 days since February 19th.

According to the info on MyFordMobile site the car has not been driven over 1 mile since October 29th. It sits and collects dust.

Thank you for the update. I do not have any information regarding the hotline or when engineers are dispatched. I recommend keeping in touch with your CSM as they'll be able to look into this further.

  10. Started getting the same message last week. Yesterday car wouldn't start. Jumped it 3 times. Found this forum. Just returned from my dealership and new battery was cover under warranty as the old battery tested out with a bad cell.

Thank you to everyone who used this forum as a sounding board and the Ford reps here. I can't help but think what has been discussed here over the years played no small part in how my situation was handled today. Again Thank you all

Happy to hear your battery was taken care of, oldhousedr! I'm around if you need anything.

  11. All - not sure if anyone else is having this problem or not so I figured I'd ask. My '14 Fusion Hybrid's rear defrost seems to be very weak lately. To clear the thinnest layer of Autumn frost takes two cycles. I don't recall it being this weak last year. Has this happened to anyone?

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Can you believe it's nearly winter already? I want to check out some options on this. Have you had a chance to speak with your dealer? Please let me know, along with your mileage.

  12. HELP!!!!!!!

Well today I got an e-mail from the Ford Regional Customer Service Manager stating that the dealership was going to be working with their Ford Field Service Engineer. The FFSE should be reaching out to the dealership and helping them with a repair direction

The car has been at the dealership for two weeks and the dealership has supposedly been in contact with the Ford Technical Hotline but they have not been able to duplicate the concern but suspect water intrusion and the local technician was supposed to test for chafing and water intrusion on the 6th. Five days later there is no word on what happened with that testing.

I have not been able to communicate with the car (via the MyFordMobile app and website) for seven days.

The question is now "Is the car in pieces on the shop floor or is it sitting out on the lot collecting dust?"

Crystal / Meagan: Where do we go from here? I am getting more frustrated every day.

The car has been in the shop now for 73 days out of the last 265 days (since February 19th, 2015). That is 27.5% of the time in the shop.

I have made 2 1/2 car payments for a car that sits at the dealership and nothing seems to be getting done.

    HELP

Thanks for reaching back out. I checked out your case, and I was able to see the email you're referring to. I recommend continuing to work with your CSM and dealer for a resolution.

  13. This is interesting. I'm wondering how they determine the cars to include. If someone purchases a car in Texas and then moves to Green Bay, would Ford track the registration or go by the location of the selling dealer? Or if there was a dealer trade. Maybe our Ford Service Rep could chime in on this one.

    Hi tr7driver,

I'm Crystal; I'll be keeping an eye on things here whiel Meagan is out of the office. Recalls are assigned by VIN and are sent out based on the vehicle's registration information/address. Let me know if you have any other questions!

  14. Well, the problem is back. This past Saturday we took our bi-weekly drive to the coast and it was the first cold weekend (~35 deg F in the morning). After about 20 miles of highway driving the Cross Traffic Alert Fault came on again. Same Left Rear Sensor shows the fault. I called the dealer and said I was going to take the car to the closest open Ford dealer with a service department open on Saturday to get the codes. The codes listed were U3000 and U0253. Spoke with my dealer and he will contact the Ford Hot-Line. My frustration level is increasing. This has to have something to do with temperature.

    HELP !!!!!!

I want to get this checked out. Please PM me your VIN, mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location.

  15. ...

Hello... @FordService... are you there??? I sure miss Ashley. She was our first FordService rep on the forum & she seemed to be the only one who actually cared & bothered to try. Remember all the things Ashley found out for us?? Oil viscosity, detailed technical explanations of how things worked... The cynical side of me thinks that she did too good a job of providing customer service so Ford took her away.

I'm here, I promise. I still talk to Ashley on occasion (she works with schools now), and I'll be more than happy to let her know how much she's missed. The way we get our information is a little different now than when she was here, so I'm not always able to get the same level of detail she could.

I don't work directly with engineers, but I can send this up to your customer service manager to see if there's anything on their end. Please send me your VIN, mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location. I'll work through your posts to make the case notes, but if there are key items you want to make sure I document, please let me know.

  16. I wish I had found this thread before I submitted my NHTSA complaint. I'll have to see if I can go in and edit that to remove the notion of unintended acceleration.

Meagan or FordService ... no posts from you on this since August 25, 2015 ... anything you can add or update?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for reaching out, Dave.

Have you had a chance to swing past your dealer to have this checked out? I may have missed it in skimming your posts. As I'm not a technician, I don't have any in depth information about this, nor can I diagnose or suggest repairs. Your dealer's in the best position to assist; once you have an appointment set up, please let me know.

  17. Hi all,

I just wanted to introduce myself here on the forum. I got a new 2015 white FFH. MSRP was $33535, and got it for $26900. I thought I was a fair deal (I hope it was!), but I really wish I had found this forum before I went ahead and got myself a FFH. I have had the car for less than a week, but already found myself learning a lot and loving the car. There are lots to learn since this is my first hybrid, and I can’t wait to see what it can do with my commute and all the family trips!

    Best,

    Ivan

    Welcome, and congrats, itsffh2015!

I'm the resident customer service rep, and I'll be around to help track down answers. Don't forget to check out this link to learn more about fuel efficiency and other cool EV facts.

  18. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion Energi titanium. About 1 time a month, while the car is plugged into the wall charger to charge the battery, the air conditioner turns on. The main air conditioner fan in the front by the engine turns on, and the inside cabin vents puts out cool air into the cabin. To be clear, this is different than the trunk battery fans that turn on each time I charge the car.

Is this occasional air conditioner turning on normal, perhaps to cool the battery from getting too hot? Does this happen to any other ford fusion energi owners? Can Fordservice representative also answer my question?

Thanks in advance for your help and answers.

    Hi rad,

You mentioned knowing this already, but per your Owner Manual: The fan noise comes from a fan located outside the high voltage battery. This fan turns on when the battery requires cooling air. The fan speed, and associated noise level, will change according to the amount of cooling required to maintain good performance. Maintaining the battery temperature at optimal conditions also prolongs the useful life of the battery and helps to achieve better fuel economy.

Here's some info on GO Times: Setting GO Times allows you to control charging schedules and cabin conditioning settings so your vehicle is ready to drive when you are. By setting a GO Time, your vehicle can use your value charge settings to minimize your electricity costs but still prioritize getting a full charge before your GO Time. A calendar view allows you to program two GO Times per day for each day of the week.
