  1. Appreciate the response so much, Have not done the PCM update yet...... Did NOT expect this much of a drop without it..... Filled up today and this tank was 27.7MPG......... Have not done the reset of the SOC....... I suppose it's time to get the car to the dealership and get them to fix it.... do whatever it takes to get me back up to 40+...... Thank you so much for your interest and help. Everyone here has always been helpful and it is sincerely appreciated.
  2. I'm in Indiana.... we haven't had 0 degree weather..... but now having a hard time getting 30MPG on this current tank and might not make the 300 mile club on this one........ or much better.... Check my Fuelly for Geremy13 and see what you think. Only thing I can figure is after the oil change in late October everything went to crap....... of course the weather went under 50 as well,, but this kind of mileage on a brand new car is starting to get to me... real bad. If you check my Fuelly you can see that I know how to get in the 40+, but now even under the most conservative driving I can't get much over 30...... Bummed!.... Need someone to help me,,, give me some direction on what to do next. Haven't bought a new car in 10 years and now these payments are not justifying the decision that I made when my other car can do 30MPG... Just Bummed!,,,, Like the Topic said.... blowing off some steam.
  3. Exellent Topic!..... and one that I will follow. Purchased the car in July.... and learned NOT to use the AC and could get 40+ driving 20 miles or more. Problem is I drive 3 miles to work and most every other place I go..... Now the Winter has set in.... and I noticed once the temp dropped below 50 degrees that MPG lifetime is dropping quickly. I baby this like a grandma and have learned how to keep it in electric for as long as possible,,,, car has never been over 55MPH... and always on ECO cruise when doing so. Now I'm having hard time reaching 35MPG on a tank of gas. I don't use heated seats but the wife does. Climate is usually set to 73deg... to make if bearable to drive. Have been letting the car warm up for 5-10min in the morning as lately it has been in the 30's.... Am contemplating NOT using the heater but then I will just drive my other car. It gets 20MPG no matter what and keeps me toasty all of the time. BUT,,, like someone else said, it is not the FUSION,,, and I have to admit.. I do like the car. But don't like the MPG.... And I do want to be comfortable driving my little 3-5mile drives in comfort. So,,, here is my info... hard to achieve 35MPG now that the temp is below 50 degrees with the heater on. Also, I should add that I have not had the PCM update yet. Suppose this is something to do soon.

Yes, this is true, I will swear by it now. It lightly rained today and I could definitely tell a big difference since the first 4 coats a couple months ago. (wipe on, wipe off). But then again, it's only been a day. But I sure think that it made a big difference, and I'm thinking next time maybe I will wait 24 hours (even with ZFX) before I wipe it clean. I am that impressed!
  5. Absolutely!, This is why we purchased the FFH instead of the FFE. I would have much more preferred the Energi as most of my trips are 3 miles or less. And that's 15K of them at least per year. But I am very fortunate to live close to work, close to home, close to everything I have to do. BUT!, since me and the wife work all of the time we do travel quite frequently to relieve our stress. Give's us something to enjoy after working so hard. Now, I am just fine with a pair of shorts, pair of flip flops and swim shorts to last me the weekend, while she packs an entire months of clothing for a getaway weekend. And more shoes than I have in my entire closet. So even at this with luggage I have to play 'Tetris' to load our luggage in the normal FFH. Doing it in the Energi was not doeable and that's what made our decision. Other than that though.... I would have loved the Energi.

Just an update, Now it's October,,, so I put 2 more coats for Z2 on it before Winter... knowing that I won't do this again until Spring. So, cleaning the car thoroughly and then puting the first coat of Z2 with ZFX on...... then wiping it off... I started to run out of time. I didn't want to waste the Z2 that I just mixed up so I put the second coat on knowing that I couldn't wipe it off until the next day. So,, next day... 24 hours later after work... I wiped it off. Was much more work than normal. BUT, I will swear that the car looks more sharper and gives me the impression that it is more protective than the other coats that I have done in the past. Something to think about. I was surprised.
  7. Excellent Info,,,,,, Skipping on this purchase.. But still I am going to figure this out.
  8. Well then,, I need to get me one of these.... (but I should probably tint the windows as well....)... Funny,,, I ran into a fella that had the exact same car as I do.... and he was boasting about his tinted windows... (and I do like tinted windows)... and then when we put the cars side by side... I don't think he realized that his tint was factory... and paid way too much for .... well.... 1/2% or whatever it actually was. I like mine tinted nicely,,, dark enough to keep me comfortable,,, but not so dark that I can't see at night..... thanks... I will have to get some shades for the windshield... but it's just starting to get colder... might wait until next season.
  9. Thank you, Thank you,,, I will look into this. Really wasn't interested in watching movies other than mostly in park.... But cracking code is somewhat of an interest.... and it would be nice that the wife could watch a show on our trips... it's not like I'm going to look down at the MFT to use the navigation, change the radio station, set the A/C temp... so I'm sure I wouldn't be distracted by the wife watching a show.. So yes,,, tell me about this...... Will the MFT pick up off of this? It doesn't on my phone,,,, because it's not supported. Won't even pick up internet from the phone. But teach me how to do this on this wireless hard drive and I'll purchase on tonite!... Thank you!
  10. Has anyone figured out how to do this? I'm looking to order a new cable to work with my wifes I touch... and then I thought... Hey,,, ask the folks on Fusion Forum what they use.... Soo...... what is everybody using to accomplish this task... watching movies on their car.... Thanks in advance.....
  11. I have to agree 100%. I don't live in Florida but here in Indiana it can get pretty darn hot as well. I was VERY concerned when the wife wanted black on black and thought that the leather seats were going to be unbearable. BUT.... never ever has been an issue. The heat in the car was like any other car,,, and like djminfll I would automatically roll down the windows to let normal heat out that any other car couldn't do... BUT to my surprise the seats were never an issue. I am very happy about that.
  12. I agree with B25Nut whole heartedly.... but I am warned quite often. (hehe).. I figure since it's there to help me.. just put it in reverse and push the go pedal. It someone with a shopping cart is stupid enough to walk behind my car they are lucky that I have that on our car. But truly... I am warned every morning as I back out of our garage. It warns me that a car is approaching from the right side... (which is actually our trash can)... and I am so thankful that it warned me..... before I put a dent or scratch on that big piece of blue plastic trash can.! Or more importantly,, knock it over and dump a bunch of empty beer cans in our driveway that the wife would have to clean up. Off to work.........
  13. Honeymooners.... That would be good too!!!.... Unfortunately it look likes 'Nightmare On Elm Street' tonite..... No moonroof.... shutting that puppy.... don't need any Zombies showing up.......
  14. I'm still working on this one. I think I need to buy a cable from apple. I like the idea of my wife's iTouch... because I can just leave it in the center console and not worry about it. Other than that I might buy a portable DVD player for those late romantic nights.... when we actually pull the car out of the garage..... drive down our driveway and pull into the grass in our front yard..... open the moonroof..... look at the stars..... and then watch something romantic... like " I Love Lucy".

    Zaino How To

Cool,,, I have the ZFX and Z2, Z5, Z7 and Z6........ I washed her today and then Z6 when I got home. I am learning that it takes me about 45 min. to Z6 and then park her in the garage. I do have an update on my MPG after my trip but I will post that in another thread that is appropriate. Appreciate all of your help.

Very Well,,, and much appreciated ACDII..... I am going to wash it tomorrow.... Z6 it when I get home..... and then order another bottle of? Should I get some more Z6 or that AIO stuff that everyone talks about. I think in about another month... I will put another 2 coats of Z2 on it and put her up for the winter........ I hear she doesn't get much MPG in the winter..... BUT,,, don't really want her out in the snow anyway..... BUT ... would love to give it a go,,, if I thought it would make sense. It's kinda funny, If I turn the AC off....... I can pretty much get that 47MPG all day long driving 20MPH on the highway (just being funny)... but truly,, I have figured out how to get that kind on mileage. But simply can't do it with the AC on.... and it's been too hot for me to go without. Another test will be next Wednesday..... when I drive a 200 mile trip ... (NOTE: my drive to work is only 3 miles).... But on Wednesday I will be making this 200 mile trip that I have gotten 47 mpg before without AC....... Now I will be doing it with my wife and her Mom with full AC.. Her Mom weighs 300 pounds. I have heard people mention that the Energi suffers because of the extra 300 pounds...... We shall see. enough personal info.... I suppose..... anyways,,, what do you think about the Z6 or AIO suggestions?

So, I've got the water spots issue and I'm wondering if I should put a coat of wax on it? I don't know..,, I think I read somewhere that after Zaino'ing it that you did put a coat of wax on it. So far, I've just clay barred,,, 2 coats of Z5 and 2 coats of Z2... and then Z6 it alot. Currently the car has alot of dirt/ dust so I'm gonna take it to the car wash... and then Z6 when I get home. BUT,,, should I have put a coat of wax on it? I am curious... I suppose if I do this then Z6's in it all the time wouldn't really make sense. Just want to protect my wifes car that I never cared about polishing or washing before..... ;)

Me too! What's up with the water spots! I went out of town for Labor day and it lightly rained while we were out. Upon looking at the car I thought 'What The Heck?'.. dried up water spots and then when I got home I immediately Z6's it. Kind of a job that I was hoping to avoid. Should I put a coat of normal wax on it>? don't want to have to do this........
  19. Last week I made a trip to Indy and back (200 miles total) and set the Eco Cruise to 55MPH the entire way. Never broke 60 or 2000RPM and NO A/C with windows rolled down..... Got pretty good gas mileage and entire trip took less than a week. ;)
  20. This is very interesting and very informative. I noticed this exact same thing today. Story: I had to see a client and also had to make three trips back to the office to complete this client service. On the first trip I used no A/C (5.1 miles total) and got 49MPG..... on the second trip I used the A/C from scratch (90 degrees outside and set the AC to 74) and got 43MPG (6MPG hit)... and the second trip kept the AC on and got 44MPG and on the third trip got 45MPG........ so your theory runs true........ I can't explain why but once the car was warmed up and conditioned to run to this client ,,,, the MPG got progressively better under the exact same conditions......
  21. I was born and raised in San Diego...... Am very happy that I moved to the Midwest to raise my family. This is paradise here. I could've never made it in San Diego. And all of my kids truly turned out good,, and now most own thier own homes... If I was still in San Diego they would be asking Dad why we still live in apartments in our 50's... I love to visit though,, and play tourist. But really happy that I don't live there. I guess I will have to deal with the HVAC issue. Both in my car and my house(s)....... :)
  22. Thank you so much for everybody's input. Yes, I will pay attention to the factors involved 'before' this message appears.... I have no idea why it started appearing just the last few days... but maybe I hit the start button again after it started?? I don't know... but I will pay close attention to the 'befores' now so I can figure this out. Apreciate everyones help,,, thank you.
  23. Excellent information. I am in the same boat as you. I bought the car for the MPG..... but the looks are outstanding. I replaced it with a 2003 Sonata,,, which I am very happy with. I am sure that I have the best maintained 180,000 mile Sonata that still drive beautifully and keeps me happy. BUT... you had a 1995 Accord??? that got 27MPG.... (not that I'm Accord fan, but those were some pretty nice cars back in '95)... I'm wondering what kind of excellent MPG they get now...... Also,,, you driving a Computer.... I can totally relate with.... Since I work in the industry it has me somewhat happy and somewhat concerned. It is not uncommon for my company to leave a business after servicing thier network and them to call explaining that ever since we serviced the systems that thier tire pressures are low...... (Which of course would be totally coincidence.... but possibly true). Hard to explain to people that the two have nothing in common other than the coincidence..... so it will be fun to get an oil change at my dealership and explain to them that ever since that my microwave is not working right... and expect them to fix it. :victory:
