This is why my next car won't be a Ford. Love everything but the electronics-more specifically the lack of support with MFT/SYNC2. It's performance and usability is on par with GPS units from 1995. I wouldn't be so bitter if I didn't think I got hoodwinked.

Yep that's the one. $2k for something that should retail under $500 is my problem. My comparison is my recent purchase of a double-din pioneer avh-4100NEX for my son's truck. Very slick head unit, and reasonable. I'd probably buy if the price was $750 or less.

Found a place selling upgrades for 2k. I'll buy a new car (non ford) before I pay that kind of dough.

yeah, it did that 20 minutes or so after the update. It stopped after a 1/2 hour or so.. I have my eyes on it.

The method of delivery is fine through USB, though you must consider things like the linked file above may have been modified in a malicious manner. Then again, these fusions don't have a modem so remote hacking would be next to impossible. I would rather Ford focus on delivering something like Android Auto or Apple Carplay compatibility for us who paid an exorbitant amount of money for a sub-par system. I stare with envy at Tesla's support for their in-vehicle systems.

FWIW, I get around this by Bluetooth streaming from the SiriusXM app from my phone--at the expense of my data allowance--again, with no metadata. Bonus: better quality and additional channels like Rock&Roll Hall of Fame channel.

Agreed, and I don't. It's just sometimes, when it's usually most inconvenient, the damn thing thinks I'm trying to lock it. Even with one finger pulling the handle, it shits the bed. Sometimes.
