  1. Have had my hybrid for a few months now, little over 3300 miles and currently averaging a little over 42 mpg lifetime. Recently moved to Madison Heights from Lynchburg. Used to travel to Roanoke from Lynchburg for work on a daily basis and was driving a 2010 Ford Taurus AWD. Absolutely loved the car but was only getting max 25 mpg highway (3.5 V6). Had to trade the car for something that got better gas mileage. Changed jobs and now only drive from Madison Heights into Lynchburg to work. So needless to say my gas purchases have decreased dramatically! First hybrid for me and took a little getting used to, but I love this car too. Glad to see lots of people in the VA area in this forum. Always checking in to see what everyones experiences are and how they're handled.

  2. I might have a solution for your 1 touch up not working. My front windows would not go up when I used the "global up" function. To reset the windows that were affected, I ran the windows down to the full open position and continued to hold the switch in the down position for more than two seconds. Then I ran them up and held it in the up position for two seconds after they reached the top. This reset the system and the windows now operate properly. Not positive that this reset will fix the 1 touch up specifically, but it's worth a try.

I believe kicking the cruise off with your foot activates the sensitive regen braking feature in the transmission but does not actually initiate the friction braking at the wheels. Don't know if this is inherent in all vehicles with regen braking. Cancelling the cruise works best.

The side openings on the console cubby come in very handy when you use anything which requires a power cord that is mounted to your windshield. Radar detectors, Smartphones, etc. can be plugged in and the power cord runs up the side of the center stack rather straight up in front of your MFT, radio, heater controls, etc.

Have had my FFH for less than a month and I agree the MFT can be somewhat glitchy. Once, the temp started flashing and when I touched the screen the heat powered off. When I touched the power button on the heat controls the temp came back on flashing but still no heat. It apparently reset itself when I stopped, shut off the car and restarted. Also, my audio sometimes reverts to my USB drive when I start if I haven't shut off the audio off prior to my last exit from the car. I've verified that I have the latest software revison installed, done a master reset and still odd things happen occasionally. From what I've read on this and other forums, no matter what revision of software is installed in your MFT, most everyone has experienced issues of some sort. Hopefully this will be fixed with additional updates in the future.

Although I have minor irritations with the MFT, I agree with most everyone who has a new FFH. I love it!! Styling, ride, comfort are exceptional. First hybrid for me but I'm averaging over 41 mpg so far. Not what was advertised but still much better than I had been getting with my old car.

  3. A tap in either direction gives 3 blinks. Pushing past the detent turns the signal on until a turn is executed or you switch it off. To switch it off, depress the lever fully in the same direction as the original indication and it will shut off and you won't get the blinking in the other direction. It shuts it off and returns to the center off position. Didn't learn this from the owners manual, just happened to do it one time. So if you want "x" amount of blinks, go for it and you won't get an odd blink in the other direction when shutting it off.

  4. Had my windows tinted 5 days after taking delivery. 50% on driver and passenger windows and 35% on rear (legal in VA). My car is very similar to Imp180psu's except for the exterior color. I've had other cars with a black interior like we get with the appearance package and the tint definitely keeps it cooler. I was concerned about getting it done now versus waiting for warmer weather but the installer said there is absolutely no problem with getting it done any time of year since almost all of the moisture is squeegeed out during the installation process. It was in the 20's in the days right after installation and no apparent problems. Lifetime warranty from the manufacturer if I ever do have any problems. Posted some pictures in members gallery if you want to see what it looks like. :camera:

  5. Ordered a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid in Ruby Red in late December. Had been reading this and other forums for a short while and it seemed most everyone was in love with the styling of the car but some had a few unkind words on some of it's features and/or their dealership experience. By mid-February I was going crazy with anticipation and couldn't stand to wait any longer. Found a comparable car at another dealership and my original dealer was able to swap for it and I took delivery on 2/21. Sterling Gray, Moonroof, Appearance package and MyFord Touch. I had already downloaded the owners manual in PDF Form and read through it twice! I have about 800 miles on it now and I'm averaging a little over 40 mpg. MFT can be a little glitchy. Love the ride and has reasonable power. Hoping to get slightly higher mpg when I get a little better at driving my first hybrid. So far very impressed!
