1. I love this car - best car I've ever owned! All of the standard and optional features I've used work great - haven't tried park assist yet. Adaptive cruise control is a wonderful tool and I am very glad that I took this option as it makes driving in traffic painless. Its already paid safety dividends too as, once while looking at the touch screen when I should have been watching the road, my heads-up display collision warning red LEDs lit up giving me a chance to brake in time and avoid hitting the car in front of me. So far my mpg on my commute to work (~35 country road miles one way) is 43.8, 41.3 and 40.9. Adding in the rest of the driving and my avg mpg so far is about 36 - speedometer mileage when I picked up the car was 5.8 mi and now its at 200 mi so I'm still very early in the break-in period. I've uploaded pictures to the Photo Gallery to a new folder I've named SE Michigan Fusion Titanium Hybrid. They are listed below. Love the White Platinum Tricoat paint!
2. Pictures of my new car on 5/5/13
3. It looks like the long wait will finally be over tomorrow. My dealership has notified me that my car is guaranteed to be delivered tommorow so I plan to take the afternoon off to finalize the loan and take ownership. The car was transported by rail to Wayne, MI by 4/15/13 and has been waiting to be unloaded from the rail car ever since - unbelievable final insult during this incredible 5 month wait curtesy of Ford Motor Co - 15 days just sitting in a rail car!

I will take photos after I get the car home and post them as soon as I can.
4. Good for you! Wish I had been able to get one. I've called Ford customer service at least 4 times requesting a Fusion brochure. I finally received 2 of them in the mail but neither one of them had a coupon inside. I've stopped trying to get a coupon thinking that my distribution area and/or X-plan must not qualify for it (I'm buying under X-plan). I also wondered whether only current Ford car owners were being offered the coupon.
5. Did your rail car have a conveyance mechanical failure and/or get delayed in Kansas City for >48 hours?
6. I'm afraid its related to the rail car holding my car. There was a prior conveyance mechanical failure reported by Union Pacific (UP) in Nogales, AZ on 4/6/13 at 1:18PM; apparently this was fixed at that point because the next reported event (also Nogales, AZ) on same day at 4:52PM lists the rail car as received and eventually passing Nogales, AZ at 5:36PM. On the brighter side, we are pounding the rails once again! Norfolk Southern (NS) train with my rail car is due into Decator, IL on the 13th where it changes locomotives, goes on into Chicago with an ETA on the 14th, where it changes locomotives once again before finishing the trip in Wayne, MI with an ETA of 4/15/13. All of this assumes, of course, that we don't get broken again.
7. Nice photos neods, I'm jealous. My car began its transit late in the day last Friday but has been stuck in Kansas City for the last 48 hours because of a conveyance mechanical failure. There was supposed to be a transfer from the UP line to the NS line in Kansas City, so I'm not certain who's mechanical failure this is - nor am I really sure what a conveyance mechanical failure means. Since we have the same rail route (Mexico to Wayne, MI) and noting that you received your car within 2 weeks after it was built, I should see my car sometime around 4/19/13 + KC delay. I will also post pictures once it arrives.
8. Thank-you Riggo. The Ford Fusion Hybrid forum was the only site I had been posting to. After posting to other Blue Oval forum threads until the count was 10, I was able to post to the vehicle-locator-by-ford-employees thread. Cyberdman's production start/finish/ship status reponse today confirms what was provided by the window sticker and Etis sites - they are in exact agreement. My cars timeline was: 1. Built 4/4/13 2. Shipped 4/5/13 and on-rail ever since 3. 4/8/13 in-transit - passing (Union Pacific Railroad) Dalhart, TX 01:25 CT It is apparent that my dealership requires vehicle visability status training.
9. Looks like I missed the boat cause I've been shipped by rail. From my dealer today: 2222 P0R VIN Number Fusion In Transit Shipped Rail - Railcar # ETTX851037 (Ferrocarril Mexicano S.a. De C.v. ) Ramp 54, Hermosillo Asy, SO Apr-05-2013, 18:00 MT TBD TBD N/A From acdii's last post, However, the rail car can technically be called the shipping container, since they are enclosed. :) , and a picture of the rail car: I do think that what my dealer referred to as a container was indeed a 3-level rail car. In my case, my car was driven onto the container a day prior to rolling down the rails on its way to yours truely.
10. Well I visited http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/forum/80-vehicle-locator-by-ford-employees/ and found a notice at top of page that said I could not post a new thread. Tried to find a way to make a post there to ask for a timeline but failed - Posting rules are confusing - they say that you have to make 10 posts to this site in order to post (Catch 22?). Has cyberdman closed his site to new requesters?
11. Lately, Ive been poking fun at pubically accesible Ford information systems. However, to date, I've not requested status from cyberdman and perhaps now would be a good time to ask for the real build time-line of events from start of assembly to finish. If cyberdman will provide the time-line, a highly reputable source of information could be used for reference against all the other information that was provided to me up to now. I'll give it a try and share all that results.
12. OK, so I'm certainly glad you've got what appears to be a good grasp on Ford shipment methods from its Hermosillo facility. Gee, I sure hope my container doesn't get sea water spray on it as it transits from the Pacific Ocean thru the canal, etc. You don't suppose the transport vessel will travel thru the Gulf of Mexico, up the Atlantic seaboard to enter the St Lawrence Seaway do you?
13. I sure wouldn't want to be loaded on the bottom level - However, unlike the rest of you unfortunate individuals, my car is loaded in a shipping container to protect it from external bad stuff.
14. My dealer's exact wording was "Shipping container has it" and he attached a screen grab of the information he had read => "2222 P0R VIN Number Fusion Awaiting Shipment -01002 (Allied Systems, Ltd) Ramp 24 Apr 05-2013, TBD TBD 00:11 MT N/A".
15. ETIS site states my car was built yesterday (4/4/2013). My dealer still maintains that it was built last week (3/25/2013) and states that his information data-base is not available to the public - public data-bases are maintained separately from "inside Ford only" data-bases. He just informed me that he can see from his data-base that the car has been installed in the shipping container and is now awaiting movement to the rail car. Obviously, if the car was just built yesterday, it must have gone right into the box. I believe my dealer because he shared proof of the container status notification with me via email attachment. Assuming that the car was truely built last week, what may have delayed ETIS car built status could have had something to do with my car being chosen for an audit evaluation (sample audit documented by someone else on this site earlier) - in other words, cars aren't statused as "built" until after inspection and, following audit completion, my car was statused as built. As my dealer has informed me, the car was put into the shipping container today. This boils down to progress I suppose.
