That's correct, at least one of the bolts had broken requiring a new rack. Dealer said first one they'd seen where bolts had broken off.

The recall regarding steering gear motor bolt corrosion impacted my car and some bolts were corroded and broken off. The fix is to replace the steering rack. I've been waiting for a month now for the parts with no word on when they will come. They did give me a loaner but this seems extreme. Anyone else need this fix and can comment on how long it took to get a new rack from Ford?

Winter has begun here in upstate New York and, in my opinion, the car was unsafe with the stock tires. The first dusting we had the vehicle was unable to start moving on a slight incline without total wheel spin. I've since put a set of four Michelin X-Ice tires on steel wheels and they make all the difference. I am no longer worried about getting home. Even so it is still not as good as my last car, an all wheel drive BMW 3 series. We have a lot of hills around here and I have a steep driveway but unless you stop driving when it snows, there is no doubt you should have true snow tires.

Update on the PCM update: After getting help from Ford Corporate my car has now been successfully updated at a new dealer. They were totally service-oriented and never questioned my observation which proved the first update had failed. After replacing the Audio Control Module and re-updating the PCM software, one of the owners of the dealership took it on the highway to be sure it was operating correctly. Very impressive. As for the MFT update, I successfully did that myself once Ford told me that the USB drive had to be FAT formatted.

I totally agree with Osofast that this car is much worse than others I've owned in this regard. It is dangerous when it clouds up and is not easily cleaned off windshield and worse on back glass. FYI, my seats are leather.

Thanks for the tips! I did post on the Ford Fusion Hybrid Facebook page with no response. While I am fine with doing the MFT update, I've read on here that it is important to do the PCM update first. With that hanging, I am concerned about tackling the MFT update. Any thoughts on that?

Have now had my car spend two whole days at dealer for PCM update and while they claim it is done the car is unable to run in electric mode over 62 miles an hour even if I am going downhill with my foot off the accelerator and battery is full. If watching energy screen it indicates that gas engine is on due to "high speed". Who can I contact to help my dealer understand that update did not take. Today they said that the head service tech checked it himself and "the computer said everything was up to date." I like my car but would like the update. Also said the MySync update was not covered under warranty and I'd need to do it myself. True?

Had to hit the "Learn" button on the actual garage door opener to get mine to work.

Even more confused having looked there. Seems to be three offers which only say "take new retail delivery" and don't restrict based on lease or purchase. Will print out the offers there and drive down to dealer to try and sort out. Thanks.

My car came two days ago and I was able to drive it around yesterday before it got prepped so very excited. I am trying to sort out the different ofers from Ford and be sure the dealer applies them best. He has already agreed to $1,000 Lease Conquest cash for coming in from a cometitors lease as well as a $750 private offer coupon that I received that had expired by the time it came in. Additionally, I received another brochure yesterday for the Fusion Hybrid and inside the back flap it does not have a coupon but has pre-apprved financing for up to $60,000 through 7/18 and $1,500 cash back valid from 4/2-6/3. There seems to be no restrictions in the fine print. Can anyone in the know tell me if I can use this in addition to the $1,750 worth of incentives already applied or is this instead of one or the other?

According to some, the coupon will be honored after the expiration date. My dealer seemed to think so.

Does status of "Submitted to Plant" mean anything? Any idea how long from now until a build date is scheduled?

Just got my VIN today but I'm confused about tracking. Went to FordEtis and got a build date of 30.11.0002. Does anyone know what that means? It also said it was a Transit Connect but I see from the forum I should just ignore that. Strange system. Thanks for any help.

Just joined the Forum last night. Looking forward to getting, and eventually giving, helpful info. Drove the FFH a couple weeks back and really liked it. Wasn't sure I would like it coming from a BMW but I enjoyed it and the family did as well so it's a go. I am trying to decide between a loaded up SE and a Titanium. Hard to compare since the dealers have no literature and Ford.com does not yet have the Hybrid Titanium posted. Looks like biggest differences are 18" wheels, stereo, ambient lighting and pushbutton start. Did I miss anything? Opinions?

Where can I find pricing on the FFH Titanium? Can't build on Ford.com and dealer says no info yet.
