    Hi wmpwi,

How did the service visit go? Please let me know, I want to see how I can best assist.

    Meagan

I am pleased to report that they finished up early this morning and I picked it up a couple hours ago. Same problems as above, same fix. After I dropped it off yesterday, I checked the forum and found the identical symptoms in Kaleido's thread. I copied and pasted it into an email to my original sales guy to forward to service which probably took 2 hours. So by the time they got to it this AM they already knew what to do. They were on the phone advising me of the status by 10 AM and I probably picked it up shortly thereafter. Considering they were up to their ears in scheduled service, they got me out of there fast. Fox Ford in Kentwood is the dealership, Bill Beatty is my sales guy and Paul Christopher was my point of contact in the service dept. Both Bill and Paul did Fox proud and Fox did likewise for Ford. Can't ask for more than that. BTW, Glad you're here too.

  2. Identical problem to me today. In for service now. We'll see what they say.

On a side note, I always wanted to be able to have the back up cam operational whenever I choose. Having had it on while driving today, it can be a tad disorienting.

Last week I had multiple warning lights all come on at once. Hill Assist, Service Traction Control, ABS, Air Bag. Along with that the Screen displayed my back up camera while driving forward at any speed. Brought it to the dealer and left it for two days. The repair was a corroded connector in the White Wire at the Left Front ABS Sensor. This connector is protected with a rubber boot, but it wasn't "sealed with sealer". I asked if just mine wasn't sealed with sealer or were all cars not sealed with sealer. I was told "no cars are sealed with sealer, there is just the rubber boot covering the connector. The repair was to clean the connector from corrosion and splice repair the wire and shrink tube the repair and reattach the rubber boot and glue/seal it in place. No charge of coarse and a free rental car. I just thought I'd post this in case anyone else gets a warning light party display.

  3. I have scoured the internet for the past few days and cannot find an article detailing how to remove the Sony head unit. I have found several on the 2011 and older, but nothing for the 13-14's. Can anyone provide details on this topic?

    Thanks in advance.

Did you ever find anything on this? I've been on a hard target search for quite a while too and nothing until this the other day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqRhQHlmsTc

  4. Passenger seat. My wife can't see out of the windows. Needs to be 6 way power. The other thing that drives me nuts is the word hybrid on the door. It looks like it should line up with the door bottom edge rather that tilted up toward the back. I always want to straighten it like a crooked picture.

  5. The verdict is in on my end anyway. MPG sucks when it's cold. I glanced down at my dash and the big blank area stood out because I wasn't used to seeing so much nothing where there used to be plant life. I have no major interest in quantifying how much my MPG is affected, but this picture kind of sums it up pretty well. I don't think you can get less than one leaf.

  6. Michigan Highway Trip last night

    Vehicle: 2014 FFH < 1,000 miles

    Fuel level: Topped off

    Distance: 125

    Exterior Temp: 13

    Wind speed: Near 0

    Average Speed: 76

    Cruse: On

    Eco: On

    Interior Temp: 73 (Auto)

    Road Conditions: Clean / Dry

    Traffic: Very Lite

    Tire pressure: Factory default

    Mileage: 32.4

    Disposition: Comfortable

Yeah, mileage seemed like it really sucked for the first 1/2 hour, but it seemed to go up after a while. I can't imagine what it's going to do w/ snow yet.

Bought my 2013 Fusion Hybrid in April so was heading into the warm weather. At the end of October the lifetime MPG was 43.7. Pretty nice after 7500 miles.

Now it is dropping quickly in the cold weather- I live in Wisconsin. Just since November the lifetime average has dropped to 42. That's significant erosion in a very few miles.

Is this to be expected? Others experience?

    Craig

  7. I've gone full circle on this topic and there's little else I can contribute to my experience, but that's not to suggest bad things don't happen to good people. I will be tracking this thread and commiserating with those who have the misfortune of FFH related trauma. In the meantime, having replaced the '13 with an identical '14, I'm noticing some differences http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/7989-ffh-2013-vs-2014-a-casual-comparison/?p=71147.

  8. If I knew I was going to be in this position, I would have kept better track of specific metrics when I had the ’13 so that I could provide an empirical review rather than one based on memory. Since I didn't anticipate owning a '14, all I have are some mushy feelings about what’s the same, improved, or just different, but I am optimistic nothing is worse.

    In no particular order:

    • EV+ recognized my home and work much much quicker. I thought it took over 300 miles for the ’13 to figure out where I was while the ’14 picked it up both work and home in less than 100 mile.
    • I find that the battery is fully charged quite a bit in the ’14 where as the ’13 never quite made it to a fully charged state.
    • The ’14 engages the EV mode much more frequently at lower speeds that the ’13, but I haven’t been able to notice any difference at higher speeds of 60 or more.
    • The noise dampening / active noise cancelation system is far more effective in the ’14 than the ’13, so much so that I’m not sure it was working at all before.
    • Voice recognition seems significantly improved in ’14. While it’s possible I’m articulating better this year over last, but I doubt it. The improvement seems particularly noticeable in the NAV system.
    • The Blue Tooth connection in the ’14 is very unstable and disconnects randomly. It wasn’t a problem in the ’13.
    • Occasional problems w/ the auto windows one-touch not working properly seems to have been fixed in the '14 (added 12/08)

In the category of didn’t change, but should have:

    • The touch controls for HAV and radio / CD player are every bit as sensitive in ’14 as they were in ’13
    • The fast / jump forward in the media player still sucks in both the ’13 and ’14. The fastest advance is 10 seconds. That’s fine for CD’s but when you’re playing a one hour audio track in the USB input is extremely annoying.
    • The front passenger seat still doesn’t go up. Foreword and back, but not up. Unless you’re 6 foot, you want a pillow under your ass.
    • A great number of competitors have dropped the whip antenna in favor of the lower profile shark fin style. Sadly, Ford has not seen fit to follow suit.

In the category of did change and shouldn't have:

    • loss of the Lifetime Summary (hybridbear)

I will supplement this thread as I find other noteworthy points.

The MFT is not available on the FFH S and is optional on the FFH SE via the SE Technology Package. MFT is standard on the FFH Titanium. I also prefer a portable GPS that can be used in any vehicle, easily upgraded with new maps, and replaced whenever desired.

I bought the Nav and have used portable stand alone systems (Gramin, TomTom, Mio), OEM built in systems, car computer integrated systems (Destinator, DeLorme, iGuidance) and to this day I've yet to find anything I like as well as my Android phone w/ Google maps. Maps are up to date as anything else on the market and the speech recognition is faster and more accurate then anything else I've seen. So yeah, I agree with the GPS issue.

  10. Reason I asked is http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/7962-paint-sealant/?p=70759 and hasn't gotten any action yet. Do you know how much that stuff is compared to other products of that type? Thanks.

I bought my car through my Credit Union using the Autoland auto brokerage company.

Autoland has their own name for the exterior paint and interior surfaces sealant, Final Seal.

I had the whole car treated before I picked it up.

One year later and the car & wheels bead up when washing, the leather and interior surfaces are clean and wipe off with damp cloth.

There are other names for this type stuff, like Opti-Coat, etc.
