I just started getting the BS message this week. Happens when I start the car each morning, and at the end of the day when I head home. I drive 30 min to a hour each way so plenty of time to charge. I just tested the battery and 2.5 hours after parking it in a 55 deg F garage the battery is at 11.9v. Temps during the drives have been 20-60 F recently. My build date is 12/9/12, never had the TSB done or battery replaced. Of course I'm out of the bumper to bumper warranty due to 43k miles, but it would seem that battery issues would be covered by the powertrain warranty which is longer no? Anything specific I should tell them to do when I take it in? Sucks that I've had a fairly trouble free car compared to many of you, but I've still been to the dealer more with this car then all other 5 I've owned in my life combined.

Right, but with the complexity of vehicles now days, its easy for a problem to exist but the end user not be able to tell. Also there may be problems that my car has, but I haven't experienced yet due to the right circumstances not having occurred for me, but others have had it. Simple example is the half shaft clicking, just because someone hasn't heard it yet, doesn't mean the problem (missing washer) wasn't effecting their car, the symptom just hasn't occurred yet.

My 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty is close to ending, it there any service that I should get done the is covered now that won't be once that expires? Are TSBs still covered after the warranty, or is that why they are TSBs instead of recalls? What about software updates, are they typically free if done with oil changes?

Why are Energi gas-only MPG ratings lower than Hybrid's?
Jamone replied to esteinberg's topic in Fuel Mileage
One other reason is that they have different final drive ratios 2.57:1 for the FFH and 2.91:1 for the FFE. I'm assuming this is because with the FFE running purely on electric at all speeds up to 85 mph it has drastic differences in the power curves compared to the FFH which was designed to use the ICE > 62 mph. -
Irregular Turn Signal Behavior
Jamone replied to Terps's topic in Electrical, Gauges, Instruments, Lighting, Rear View Mirror
I've seen this intermittently. I however think it is a software bug, not a sensor issue. I've had it repeatedly refuse to blink more then once after full activation regardless of steering wheel position or movement. Sitting dead center and not moving it would still shut right off. However its impossible to get it to act up predictably so I have 0 confidence that Ford or a dealer would even catch this issue, much less fix it. :( I can reliably make the non-touchscreen center display's computer become completely scrambled, but again this is a software issue so I know the dealer can't do anything to help. -

Got the Michelins and an alignment today. Was off quite a bit. Haven't noticed any difference in MPG on my trip to/from work, and that was with them at 37.5 psi (what the dealer set). Did hit a monsoon, and they did so much better then those Goodyears ever did.

Good thing I live in VA. ? I've never had a bad Michelin for rain. If it snows I just work from home. Too many friends put in hospital from other drivers screwing up in snow.

No, haven't contacted Goodyear. Honestly I'm glad to be getting rid of them. They have been very disappointing tires on many fronts. I am going in tomorrow to get a set of Michelin Primacy MXM4s, along with getting the dealer to check the alignment/suspension. I was quoted around ~$1300 for the four tires installed both by my dealer and another small shop. But I know the dealer price matches, so was able to get it down to ~$850.

I am at 30,500 today, and I am about 1/2 way between the wear indicators starting to wear and the tires becoming slicks.

Has anyone ever gotten a rental or loaner from the dealer when TSB work is being preformed? Me and my wife are selling her car next week, and now they have the TSB for AC smell for my fusion. However since it's 6+ hours of labor the car will be down for a day minimum, we will need something to drive. Since TSBs are to fix design flaws, shouldn't Ford have to give people a loner/rental?

I have 29k on the stock 18" Goodyear Eagle LS-2 tires. I've driven the car easy, but they really should be replace soon, they are down to the wear strips. Pretty sad life IMHO, I got 45k on a set of super grippy Mitchilens on a Mini Cooper S, and I drove that like I stole it.

Has anyone tried the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus tires? They are LRR, have 70k mile warranty and are available for the 18" rims. Cheaper then the 18" Mitchilens and has much longer tread life rating. 700 vs 400. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=Cinturato+P7+All+Season+Plus&partnum=345VR8CP7ASP&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Ford&autoYear=2013&autoModel=Fusion&autoModClar=Hybrid

Today I blocked my upper grill with the pipe foam method. Granted it was warmer today (55F), but I still noticed a drastically faster warmup time, and on a trip that normally gets me 45 MPG, I got 58. Now I'm excited about getting some lower temps to see the difference then. Update: With temps in the 30s-40s the past few days I'm now seeing 41-45 MPG instead of the 37-40 MPG I had been getting on most of my trips the last few weeks.

After the PCM software update/recalibration - observations by Hybridbear

I pulled the 12v battery for ~10 minutes yesterday. Clearly enough for it to reset some things like clock, and EV+ locations. I haven't had a chance to drive it on the highway yet but I can already tell its acting different. Warmup finished and the ICE started charging the HVB before I left my subdivision instead of 1/2 a mile after leaving. On a couple trips up to 45 mph that I normally would get 45-50 mpg I am getting 52-56 mpg. The car also seems to coast longer and doesn't feel as draggy when letting off the gas.- 239 replies
