So what's the part number of the tool you have? Is it the same as the one in the video? It's good to know that it works by cycling the ON and OFF with the brakes. I will like to get the tool purchased before I get my winter tires put back on.

Ford Canada Adjusts Fuel Consumption Ratings for Certain Vehicles
JSKershaw replied to JSKershaw's topic in Fuel Mileage
Yup, I received my $925 today as well. It's a nice little Friday surprise... -
I know that there is already a thread explaining the issue with the EPA numbers on some Ford 2013 and 2014 models. I went through the whole thread and didn't see anything for us Canadians, only the US information was posted. If you would like to see the whole topic as well as the video click here. I dug a little deeper on the www.ford.ca website and found out that us Canadian's are also getting a Goodwill payment for the fuel consumption changes. Here's a chart that represents what Canadian's will be receiving back from Ford. FYI: MKZ H owners will be getting $1,800 back. Here's are details: http://www.lincolncanada.com/service/adjustedfuellabels/ Ford will have all of these cheques sent out before October 30th, 2014 Here's the link to Ford's notice to Canadian customers : http://www.ford.ca/service/adjustedfuellabels/ It looks like I will be getting $925 back! Whoohooo!

So nobody on this site has this tool and tried it? I think it's a no brainier to purchase one at $45 if it's just to program the tires when you rotate them. The link that Steve posted has the instructions on how to get into the training mode and it sounds more complicated than what the Youtube video shows. I guess I will try both procedures and see which one works. Next time I'm at the dealership I will give them the product number and buy one. On another note, I'm pretty sure you can only have 4 tires programmed into the computer at any given time. If you just switched your tires over you might not get the warning light right away. It will take some time to acknowledge that your sensors are no longer reporting the pressure to the computer. I asked about this when I was in the market in getting snow tires. The dealership and other tire shops all said the same thing.

Does anyone know if this tool will work on the 2013/14 FFH? I just put my stock/summer tires on my car today and the shop charged me $40 to re-program the tires. If it's going to cost me $80 a year to program the tires everytime I switch them. I might as well buy one of these tools.

Yes, because it's an estimate based on your current L/100km average. It sometimes goes up as well when your driving habits improve. I see this often especially when I hit the 3/4 tank mark it recalculates and usually goes up about an extra 100km or so.

I just did this yesterday along with a wax treatment afterwards. The Ruby Red colour pops!

BLIS and Cross Traffic Alert

I hope that little stuff like this doesn't happen anymore, it's things like these that annoys me the most (because there's no reason why it happened) -
BLIS and Cross Traffic Alert
JSKershaw replied to JSKershaw's topic in Advanced Driver Assistance Technologies
Well I took my car in for the appointment that was scheduled to get the BLIS and Cross Traffic Alert system checked. The dealer worked on it for about 3 hours. No modules needed to be replaced. The problem was apparently the two systems lost connection to that main computer. (Not sure how that happened) but they had to re-flash the computer software to fix it. Everything appears to be working now and only time will tell. -
Ford to offer free updates to boost hybrid vehicle efficiency
JSKershaw replied to cwb1183's topic in News & Reviews
My gut feeling is that this is similar to the software that's currently in the Energi models. It won't effect your transmission because everything under the hood is exactly the same as the Energi. The only difference is the size of battery. -
Well this is a bit strange. Starting yesterday I have been receiving a message on my dash when I start my car saying that I have a Blind Spot fault and Cross traffic fault. It appears to only affect the driver's side according to the little yellow light. The BLIS system is working on the right hand side but not the left. I have turned off the car and restarted it a couple of times yesterday and the messages still appear. The car is totally clean. I even tried rubbing the sensors on the left rear of the car to see if there was any dust or dirt on them and nothing. I took the car to a dealer close to work to see if they can have a quick look at it, and unfortunately they were totally booked solid. I have an appointment with them Thursday morning. The adviser was quick to suggest that it was probably module that controls these systems. My question is since this car is only 5 months old how common is it to have these modules fail? I noticed by doing a quick Google search this is common on the previous models of the Fusion.

Please update us when the tape has cured and the windows are opened and closed. I'm curious as how the window reacts to the vent now that it's occupying the channel.
-
Sweet, thanks!

How do these fit in the channel? Can you post a pic of the window opened and how they are attached to the car? These look great!
-
Maybe you can sell them on eBay and get a little cash for them!

I had ordered touch up paint for my Ruby Red Fusion about 2 months ago and the dealership finally got them in. When I picked my car up today from repairing the clicking noise I picked it up. I remember someone on these forums mentioning that the touch up paint they bought was just a brush type. The one I received has both a brush and a pen. The cost was $10. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty good. I will try and remember to take a pic of the tube, so you can compare it to the one you might get from your dealership.

Just had my car fixed with this TSB. They fixed both sides (driver and passenger) and now it's 100% fixed. No noise at all. I love it! It was to the point it was getting way to loud and happening all the time.
-
I will find out tomorrow morning. I will be dropping my car off to get the cracking/popping sound fixed. The dealership got the parts in on Friday. I will be picking up my car Thursday morning as I can't stick around and wait for it to get repaired. Hopefully this will fix the issue...

MFT 3.5.1 (Newer version??)
JSKershaw replied to JSKershaw's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Now that the TSB has been posted. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/7064-tsb-13-6-17-sync-various-functionality-concerns/ It looks like this was the update I received. It wasn't a newer version of Sync, but and update to the back-end of Sync. I do have to mention that I have had no phone disconnects since this update when playing Bluetooth audio. This was the only problem I was having with Sync and MFT before the update. -
MFT 3.5.1 (Newer version??)
JSKershaw replied to JSKershaw's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I should also mention that all my EV+ locations were lost in the update. My house was found in about 3 days. It has not found my work yet. It took almost 3 months for it to find my work... -
HAHA nice. You couldn't resist to give the 2013 another shot. It looks like you have a good one this time around. Its a shame you had such a lemon the first go-around. Looking forward to some great mileage shots from you!

What are the green lines in the display
JSKershaw replied to clummus's topic in Advanced Driver Assistance Technologies
Thanks, I will give this a try when there's not too many cars on the road and see if it works. I will report my findings. -
If you have the 3.5.1 update you should also have the temperature located on the right screen on the instrument cluster, along with the time and compass reading.

What are the green lines in the display
JSKershaw replied to clummus's topic in Advanced Driver Assistance Technologies
I have the Lane Assist feature and it does only work when going about 40mph. The camera that looks for the lines are behind the rear view mirror. When it cannot see the lines (or when lines are not present on the road) the lines on the dash will be gray. Once the camera spots the lines it will turn green. One thing I noticed is that my car doesn't "shake" or simulate a rumble strip. I have it set to Aid and Alert. I think the Alert just pops up a message on your left screen and will display a coffee cup. I have not experienced a shaking wheel just the nudge back into the lane.
